Wiper blades
« on: 29 April 2012, 09:11:47 »

I had 2 new wiper blades put on the car when the windscreen was replaced about 2 months ago , since using them in this non stop rain the drivers side clears on the up stroke but wont clear on down stroke  :( it kind of bounces like its not fitted right . The passenger side wiper works fine and i noticed each wiper is a different make , any wiper blade recommendations to buy ? Ive tried the usual bending of the arm but only slightly as dont want to bend out of shape too much but that dont work  ::)

Genuine GM. Cheap ish, about 9 months life(?)

Bosch aero blade twin. Almost twice as expensive, but last more than twice as long.

Everyone is about right but I started using the newer high quality flat type and since then have had no problems with noise or clearing the full area both up and down. Look great too! Costed about a fiver each if I remember right...... :y
Dont forget though!!!!!! Most times it is the wiper arm that is the culprit because they wear too. ;)

Yeah, I'd agree with that :y

I tend to change genuine GM every 6 months, due to the hot summers (!!) seems to degrade them, and my laziness on frosty mornings ::)

I suspect aero style would suffer similarly if I had them.  Only Omega I've had with aero style on, I found them not that effective (no idea how old they were, didn't look too old), passenger side left fair amount unswept due to windscreen curavture, drivers side tended to lift at high speed.

I use flat blades and find them good at all speeds. I did have an incident about a year ago where the driver's one made a bid for freedom at speed though :-X ::) Although the eBay seller did replace the set FOC when I contacted him and the replacements have been good as gold, even when pressing on ::) :y
