Windscreen washer fluid not spraying
« on: 17 August 2008, 17:25:47 »

My 2.0i 16v doesn't squirt the washer fluid out of any nozzles out of the bonnet, or tailgate (it's an estate).
Got someone to to pull the stalk while I listened under the bonnet, and couldn't hear much going on. The reservoir is topped up and I've tried poking at the nozzles to clean them out to no avail...

Does this mean a dead washer pump?
And how straightforward is it to sort out?
Cheers.

motor gone or fuse? Pull the pump out from the bottle in the bumper and make sure the rubber gromit with built in filter is clear, you will get a flood of water from the bottle. Use screen wash as it helps keep the system clear of mold and gunk. There is a guide in maintenance section iirc.

After not hearing a mechanical noise when pulling the column stalk, I bought a new pump off eBait for £8 and installed it, all working fine now, cheers.
Getting the hoses off the old pump was a PAIN though.
