Wiper Blades
« on: 22 November 2009, 14:16:14 »

hi all. whilst out driving this morning the arm that links the drivers wiper motor & the passenger wiper (under the bonnet) came off leaving me with just the drivers working. i have managed to push it back on to the ball joint, but how safe now is it? is it likely to come off again meaning a replacement arm?

If it came off once it will happen again, plenty of them in the scrappy. All models are the same.

should i be looking at just replacing the arm, or the passenger wiper unit also as this is a ball joint? any other fixes available other than replacement?

The whole unit (mounting frame, motor, two spindles and the linkages) are only held in by two or three screws.

It is easier to swap the whole unit than it is to dismantle it.
