Ive got a Leaf, so I dont care. :P ;D ;D

Porsche Boxster to Nissan Leaf in such a short time.  :D

Given the option I prefer the Leaf to the 'Toyota Pious'.... :)

You did, but being sensible goes against the grain with me.
I feel much older and more boring now I own one.  ;D

Bet its faster than the car it replaced  ;)

Be interested to hear how you get on with it!

The best thing about milk floats is all the available power is immediate * .

No changing down a cog or two, or waiting for the engine to 'come on cam'

* Provided there is plenty of charge in the PP9

B58 lump as fitted to M240i/M340i is probably one of the best engines made.

3 litre straight 6 with loads of top end power and 'stump pulling' torque at the bottom end.

My actual car made 445 bhp and 475 lb ft of twist when strapped to the dyno at Viezu. BMW quote a very conservative 369BHP and 369 lb ft of torque. :)

Yes, I reckon this engine in the 5 series estate, wither this one or the last one, probably makes for one of the best all round family cars money could but. I loved my m140i hugely - when it was working, and the 335d was no slouch either  >:D

To be fair my car is not quite stock.

A used £20 JB+ from Ebay gives something like an extra 4PSI of boost.....and she has always been run on 99 octane petrol.

I never made any attempt to 'run the car in' like days of old.....full boot from day one. >:D I've been told that cars treated like this tend to produce more power. Perhaps it's true. :)
.
               Well there is an opinion that full boost while running in helps the piston rings seal better, if it’s true or not I don’t know🐣

Presumably modern tech means that piston/bore tolerance is far better than cars of old. Back in the old days you'd hear of new cars suffering with piston slap. :)

It has just been announced that the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales has been directed to make ready for sailing from Portsmouth in about five days.

So here we go, Sir Keir is warming up! :D ;)

I hope that HMS Dragon will leave escorting the carrier, with perhaps other RN units, as is true practice in regards to capital ship sailings. Maybe French support warships will join them. ;)

I imagine he rarely gets past 'luke warm'......be it the boardroom, or the bedroom. >:D

In part. If the best that our wet fag, I mean rag, of an excuse for a leader can muster is two facelifted Lynx and 4 Typhoons, then we may as well give up. ;(

We shouldn't be involved at all.
Iran is not our concern, same goes for Ukraine. "That wet rag" of which you speak, is a globalist and still thinks–wrongly—that the UK has place on the world stage. We don't and we should just accept that. No way should our armed forces be used to fight foreign wars that the general public do not support.

Former US Ambassador Chas Freeman says diplomacy, not war, is the way to conduct foreign policy. :y

We ARE part of the democratic World that TOGETHER must stand up to the regimes of Iran and Russia to ensure their evil, that affects their own people, let alone us, does not spread and bring about a situation that we certainly do not want.  We MUST stand united together to rid the human race of the dictators.  But I suppose you wont agree with that, and probably believe that we should do what our leaders did in 1938, and let an aggressor get away with invading another country, just like Putin has, to achieve their aspirational empire and eliminate those that get in the way!   ::) ::) >:( >:(

In some ways I feel that 2026 could be the new 1938....just waiting for the world to go tits up, like it did in 1939.

Starmer is a nancy boy wet wipe of a PM, just as Chamberlain was in 1938. ::)

Not petrol prices, but our heating oil has gone from around 58-60p  a litre for the last year or so, to around 120-150p a litre  now. :o :o :o :o

It's just crazy.

Who should I blame? ::)

Haven't seen one of these out on the roads for years.  ???

I'm sure some clever bod would think it a good idea to replace the 875 cc lump with one from a  1300cc Hayabusa. :)

Anyway, some pisshead knocked me off my pushbike in a Sunbeam Stiletto when very small, so I've always been wary of the Imp.

I suppose we lust after old cars from our youth because of the fond memories they have given us. In reality most old cars will feel like a bag of shit when compared to modern cars. I always wanted (still want a TR6) but just know it would disappoint if I ever had the chance to try one.

Similar to the gorgeous 18 year old goddess we dated when dinosaurs still roamed the earth. We like to believe she would still be a great shag but these days she has 4 chins, 5 bellies, and tits that almost scrape the carpet. 8)

Never meet your heroes. ::)

Best thing you can do is choose a car you like, and buy the nicest one you can find.
What if you'd overdosed on Dorset Turnips and liked a Morris Marina, like Sir Tig.....

;D

 ::)

I was 19 and it cost me fifty quid with 6 months MOT & tax.  :y

It was a great car though and I used do a lovely drift in it around a hairpin bend deep in the lanes near here!  ;D

....and don't forget it was the desirable 1.8TC coupe version....so the ladies went weak at the knees. Wet with anticipation. :)

 ;)

It had a black 'go faster' stripe down the bonnet as well!  >:D

Used Marina seem to be up for sale within the £3000-£9000 range. :o :o :o

Why would anyone be tempted to pay this for a seventies car, with fifties engineering tech, that corners like a a dog on polished lino. >:D 8)
