This is the key blank you need, complete with transponder chip - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-OMEGA-TRANSPONDER-KEY-COMPLETE-WITH-CHIP-/160575925383?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item2563122c87

Dbug, I also need to get at least 1 new key as I only have 1.

My original key has 105 on the blade & has 3 buttons . I have the car pass.

If I buy one of these from e bay  &  then search for a good used  3 button key complete , once the new blade is cut can the  key  be assembled with the electronics/ buttons part of the used key then  be Re-  programmed by tech 2 for my car?

Make sure fob is same make/type as your existing Al - you could also just get a fob on its own if you're buying a new "horseshoe" :y

One here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-OPEL-OMEGA-3-BUTTON-REMOTE-DOOR-FOB-/350348541168?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item5192667cf0 - just need a new case (also cheap off ebay) :y

24valve - where in Bedfordshire are you?

Hi

I'm just slightly south of biggleswade in a small village called Edworth (SG18).  If I get the keys, can i come to you ( or whatever is easiest) to get it programmed?

Cheers all for your help,

Neil.
I know it well. Dad put an Escort in a hedge there, after picking the car up from me, after I'd just got it fixed after I'd parked it in a tree ;D. Oftern used to stop at the pub at the jnction with the A1 (before that junction was improved), as it was exactly halfway between where I lived and were my folks lived. Bit far for me to pop over  :'(

I think Sam Burton is near you as well - you could have you're own Omega meet with the local members ;D

There are several different types of (identically looking) 3 button fobs. You need to ensure its the right one.

Andyc will be able to give you part number. He can probably supply you the fob at very good prices.  I'd not bother with 2nd hand 3 button fobs.

I charge a tenner to program keys, to help cover the costs of buying the Tech2 device.

Advice taken on board TB.   Will check out with AndyC . Also will need my cruise enabled & possible autobox update.

So a visit to TB "country" will be on the cards in the not too distant future one thinks  :y :y
