Omega General Help / Air Con Pump Problem !
« on: 06 May 2008, 14:45:05 »
Went today to have the air con system re-charged, all went well ie no leaks, however the pump will not kick-in to suck the required weight of gas.
Apparently about 180 grams is pressure fed, then the pump sucks the rest up to 500/600 grams. The engine as it should changes revs as air con is switched on and off, all fuses are fine, I have checked K22 (white) Aircon coolant pump relay and K60 (green) Aircon compressor relay, both seem fine. Any ideas please, or is it the pump ?  :(

Had a number of problems over the past few weeks all of which are sorted, a couple were to do with leaking breather pipes, as each one was corrected the tick-over rpm increased so with aircon on (it is all the time)the rpm is now 800, is the only way to ajust it with a 'tech2' ?

Omega General Help / Irregular tick-over !
« on: 11 February 2008, 17:19:40 »
For no apparent reason the engine revs are hunting between 500 & 800rpm on tick-over, also when the engine is reved it slows down in steps ie 1500, then 1000, then to 800/500.
Once on the move no problems, no misfire, nothing, just smooth.
A bit pi!!!! off as it has been running so well, bloody Omega's  :(
Any idea's ?

Omega General Help / Top hose water leak !!
« on: 25 January 2008, 17:51:15 »
Engine has been losing small amounts of coolant for months, Timbuk and Elite Pete suggested check cooling fan thermo-switch / top hose as a possiblilty, all over things have been changed. On close inspection water just below top hose, put on new hose clamp, no change, replaced thermo-switch (thanks Issunax), today drained coolant & flushed system many times with clean water, filled with 50/50 antifreeze. Guess what, faint water leak from just under the bottom edge of the top hose, does the plastic flange split ? , will try another new hose clip tomorrow :(
An other idea's please

Omega General Help / Wheel Balancing !!!!!
« on: 12 October 2007, 17:39:23 »
This an update to earlier posts. After a number (7) re-balancing attempts the car has covered 2,000 miles since the last one and the vibration has returned (steering wheel and up from seat), at 50/55mph then 75/80mph. As a last try I spoke to Tony at Wheels in Motion, (01442 400461) he advised the wheels to be balanced useing a '5 stud adaptor plate' ie use the studs to locate the wheel on the balance machine not the hole in the centre of the wheel which maybe out of true. After a number of phone calls found Kwikfit, Walsall had the very devise, checked the wheels first all four were out, between 10 to 25 grams. All rebalanced £5.25 each (£21 in total) No Vibration.
Tony gave his expert advice freely and without gain, many, many thanks.  :y
