General Discussion Area / Banking - Christmas Bank Holidays.
« on: 29 December 2021, 11:34:04 »
A couple of years ago I gained a £12 late change because of a bank delaying the payment.  I got the charge back as it was not my fault and got £10 compensation for the agro it caused.

With payment due this week I made a manual payment takeing into consideration the 2 working days transfer time  and paid last months balance in full plus some extra to reduce next months payments.

I made the payment on Tue 21st so should have arrived by the Fri 24th.

I thought it was due 29th for payment (automatic last balance in full payment) that mysteriously got changed to 27th (They did this on other occasions)  either way the payment was made on time.  But thier records show I made the payment on thier app on the 24th.

The problem I made with paying early was I didnt anticipate all the crap I have today.

Thier system has taken the setup ammount to pay last months bill in full.  Normally this is not a problem, but with one thing and another (cash machines running out of money over the holiday period etc etc) my money was drawn out and a minimum balance left to start the New Year (I do this every year)

So I get an email saying I will be going overdrawn please add funds by the end of the day etc.

So I try to do the right thing as history has a habbit of repeating itself.

Timeing goes against me.

I cant no matter what get to the bank to pay in today allthough I could have yesterday and Monday but they were shut.

I can afford to pay the whole balance in full but the cash aint in the bank.

I can tranfer money into the bank but thats 1/2/3 working days.

Most of the country works 24/7  just not the banking system.

Rant over - possible bank charges on way.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Aerial
« on: 16 December 2021, 21:12:08 »
Where is the aerial on the saloon (2003)

Cant get local stations (Radio Hallam) often I have to retune and on occasions it retunes itself.

Today combined with a dash issue it went and constantly tried to retune itself.

Just wondered if it was an aerial issue, a bad connection(s)(another issue is weak sounf from drivers door)

Also wondered if I could justify a new headunit rather than chasing these issues. ::)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Speedo & Rev Counter Issues
« on: 16 December 2021, 21:05:20 »
2nd time I have had this problem. :-X

1st time I think all instrumentation failed. but returned to full working order.

Today was a tad different

Just rev counter & speedo stoped working, temp & fuel were ok, but for some strange reason the radio started to retune itself (not sure if the radio is related to this problem)  Tried restarting the car a couple of times but problem still there.  Turned ignition of for 20 mins or so and all working correctly.

Any thoughts as to why this happens.

That must be about 1200% more than it cost new.

Hope the seller gets what he wants for it. ::)

Why not?

General Discussion Area / Hornby - Model Railways
« on: 05 December 2021, 11:23:16 »
I was born 1961 and my parents (Probably my Dad) bought me a model railway set (Steam engine, 3 pullman coaches & a post coach)  As I grew older I aquired lots of scenery & track to the point where it out grew the garage where it was set up. :y

When I started work I sold everthing apart from the steam engine & carriages. (and have regreted it ever since.) :-\

Then today I read about this guy.

I wonder what my setup might have become if I had the space to expand. ::)

STEMO allways has something to say about most of us, but how blunt would he really be if it were the OOF version of Liar Liar being filmed. ::)

« on: 27 November 2021, 21:37:50 »
A few years ago I bought an air brush kit, intentions were good but sadly health wasnt. :-\

So now fancy a bash at doing some air brush work but not sure which compressor to buy. ???

Looking for a portable one with a reciever on , most are low CFM but seen a few arround 4CFM (is this enough  for air brushing? :-[

Also looking to use it for doing the car tyres. ::)
