Title: NCDC 2013 Bose problem
Post by: MrRon on 21 August 2016, 23:07:38
I've tried looking up this problem in search, but nothing close.

My MV6 has been parked up for a while and as I have recently completely stripped a CDX I've been working on the list of repairs.

The latest one I'm stuck on is the Stereo, it has for some time developed a fault. Once the stereo is turned on,  it works for 5 seconds then a loud blip, then stereo goes off.... back on and the process repeats.

It sounds worse from the drivers side speaker,  so I removed the door panel and the speaker, but the same fault.
This was repeated on all four doors and disconnected the parcel shelf speakers, still the same fault.

I have checked the aerial connections .
Removed the amp to see if had rusted terminals.
Changed over the signal booster.
Checked the aerial connections from the roof and the drivers side kick panel.
Removed stereo to check connections.
Replaced the speakers for testing,  as a last resort.

Still have the same fault  :'(

Any other suggestions?  Please.   :-\

Although MV6's were fitted with an option for NCDC2013 they were not the Bose version, highly unlikely the CDX's ever came with NCDC series HU's.

Are we singing from the same Hymn Sheet in terms of HU model numbers and Omega models here, what model year are we talking about?

You mentioned Amp?, so has something been retro fitted at some point?

When it bleeps does the display show SAFE or something similar?

Edit, just seen your car type, what is it, MV6 or Elite?, cant be both.

From your description, I would be looking for either a damaged speaker or a trapped speaker wire to earth

It's lost the pairing to the display or another component ;) Only fix is a Tech 2 session with someone who knows what they are doing and a little prayer ::)

When I first bought this Elite I was concerned that when I received the documents it was an MV6. It appears that the Elite package including the NCDC 2013 HU was added. Maybe an ex plod?  ??? but no extra lights or holes in the interior.

I have completely stripped the interior and as much as possible have checked the wiring. Next stage is to buzz out each wire :o

As a last resort I might have to send the HU out to be checked  ;)

Sounds like a 3.0 Engine then.

I'm more concerned about the stereo problem  ;)

The fact that I've got the Elite spec, manual and MV6 engine doesn't worry me  ;D

None,  DVLA says MV6 and believe me it goes really well + with the the Bose Stereo system, Leather seats, Sunroof,  Duel Climate Control,  Air Conditioning, Cruse Control, and Manual..... I'm happy  :D

Just need the Blip on the Stereo sorted,  Passenger seat air bag error sorted.

Morning, A quick update.

Firstly I shall be a little more descriptive of the symptoms. A soon as I put the key in the ignition and without turning the key, the crackling starts following by the Blip. This also happens when I remove the key and the only way it'll stop is by turning on, then off the stereo (as is the same when the ignition key in on). This all points to the Stereo itself?.

I have removed the Stereo for the two hours.... Still has the same fault.  ???

Would this be a faulty laser?
