Cambelt kit

Being a bit of a scrooge here.. just trying to save a few ££ on the Elite - it is a project car afterall.

Now, we fitted a brand new cambelt kit to the 2.5, and it's only covered about 7,000 miles.

How feasable would it be, to re-use the rollers and tensioner etc, and fit them to the Elite with another brand new belt... for say 25k miles?

the only thing that comes to mind is a difference in tensioners and/or belt length as you normally have to quote the specific engine number when ordering one of those kits. But as long as the kit you have on the donor car falls in a given range of engine numbers and the recipient also falls into the same range of engine numbers then I'd have thought it would be OK?

Why not jaime? New belt and hardly used rollers, what can be the prob?

Also, your belt is 1/4 used, so only £60 worth of use left on it...   ...so for sake of £60....

Sorry guys, I'm with Dave. With rollers that I know have only done 7k, and a BRAND NEW BELT.....  surely that means I'm good for 33k, in theory? So, using it for 20k, should be more than safe!?

Ok, 15k :P
Not worth putting on for 15k...  ...cambelt costs £80, for 40k miles. So, £20 for every 10k. So for £30....
