Omega General Help / Z22XE - Throttle related fault codes
« on: 02 March 2016, 21:03:33 »
Hello.

I've been annoued by this same fault for now half of year.

All started suddenly, I was driving to work at morning and after 1 kilometer, car went to limp mode.
Restarted the engine and everything was back to normal. After work, I was trying to start the car, but limp mode came on right away.
Couple of restartrs and everything was back to normal again.

I read fault codes and got these:

P1500 - Electronic Throttle Control Motor Failure
 (08) - Not present

P1550 - Electronic Throttle Control Power Management
 (04) - Not present

Since then, I've replaced sparks, oils, filters, lambda1, etc.
Also cleaned throttle body andreplaced/cleaned engine ventilation hoses

No difference.

Then I figured that fault could be on throttle body, so I replaced it with OEM throttle body.

Everything was fine, until these came up:

P0170 - Lean Exhaust
 (02) - Not present

P1525 - Limp Home Position Error
 (00) - Not present

P1550 - Electronic Throttle Control Engine Stop
 (08) - Not present

P1526 - Throttle Position no Adaption
 (08) - Not present

Lean exhaust must be because sometimes engine won't start right away when fault is on, so I tried to get it started and kept starter motor running maybe too long.
Usually engine does start right away when fault is on, but it goes to limp mode right away.

These are the latest fault codes I've been getting for last 4 months now:

P1525 - Limp Home Position Error
 (00) - Not present

P1550 - Electronic Throttle Control Engine Stop
 (08) - Not present

P1526 - Throttle Position Adaption Error
 (04) - Not present

and

P1525 - Limp Home Position Error
 (00) - Not present

P1550 - Electronic Throttle Control Power Management
 (04) - Not present

P1526 - Throttle Position no Adaption
 (08) - Not present

I can drive my car normally, maybe sometimes acceleration pedal "feels" funny and I've noticed that my fuel consumption have been risen from 8-9 l/100 km to 9-10 l/100 km since this fault has been on.

Also I have noticed that fault comes up (limp mode or engine won't fire up right away) when weather is moist and near 0-5 degrees of celcius.

Otherwise, only thing that reminds me of this problem (when its not showing itself) is that when I switch power on, dashboard shows yellow fault light, but it goes of if engine starts normally. And fuel consumption has risen.

Long story short, where do you guys/girls think I should look next to solve this problem?

I've attached some live data from my car, where I pump acc pedal on and off, just to see if there's any errors or wrong values.

Any help would be nice, because weather is going to worm up soon and more limp modes are expected..

Thanks!

General Car Chat / Re: So what have you done to your car today?

Last week replaced all brake disks, pads and relative parts, also hand brake stuffs replaced and hand brake cable. Also found out that inner rear right piston was stuck, could not get ot completely out so just did some tricks to get it moving as much as possible and replaced outer sealant. Maybe gonna change the shole caliber later.

Also upgraded wishbones with PU-front bushings and quality balljoints, replaced sway bar pushings with PU-bushes and HD sway bar links.

Just got mailed HID-level sensor and hope that will kill my Check-light. If it does, going to MOT and if it passes I'll install my xenon-external high beams.

And change engine oil and filter.

Hope thats it for this year :D

I swapped to use 0W-40 from 5W-30 because here in Finland it is often cold starts and vent lifters kept noise long time after cold starting the engine. Also I noticed approvement on oil consumption when changed to use 0W-40.

Yep, decided to order both, front and rear, sensors from vauxhallworldparts.com. 201 £ ~ 290 € with VAT and shipping.

Pretty expensive, but genuine parts and hopefully don't need to worry about them in next 15 years  ::)

Got return e-mail from seller that says part# 9117094 leveling sensor is no more available new, gotta purchase replacement part# 93197245 instead.

But price is about double than old part# sensor.. £133.95 each + VAT.
So now i ordered only one sensor, as i only need one (and hope the other one does not fail)  ::)

Have anybody tried to open failed sensor and see whats wrong? Think there is only potentiometer and some mechanism.. Well, I have equipment at my workplace where i can open failed sensor and see by my self is there anything that can be done to get it fixed. Maybe next months project  ;)

Yep, checked arms and cleaned connectors. Wiring seems to be OK, protect shrinking sleeve is broken near connector end, but I tried to wiggle wiring and nothing happened.

I don't have voltage meter near, but I'd like to measure the connector and see is the wiring OK. What reading should I get from connector end of wiring if it is OK?

I've checked also from Live-data with my *shall-not-say-my-program-name* program and rear sensor voltage does not change from 0.0 V when I move the sensors control arm.

Is the sensor part# this: 9117094 ? Tried to search them from ebay, only couple of used ones found and doubt would they last very long..

Hello and thanks having me in this forum!

I have problem with self leveling system on my Xenons.

I can hear motors to do something when I switch ignition on (but don't start the engine) and run to the headlights. Also I can feel motors to do something when I place my hands on both headlight glasses. Lights won't move, however.
Inner part of headlights (when I was replacing high beam lamps) did move about 1-2 cm in any direction, so adjusters must be broke.

I also checked fault codes with "My Naff Code Reader":

B3420 - Rear Car Level Sensor, Signal Low Input
(00) - Present

And checked from measuring blocks these:

Power Supply,12.3 V
Engine Start,Inactive
Low Beam,Off 0V
Vehicle Speed Input,0 km/h
Front Car Level Sensor,3.5 V
Front Suspension Compression/Rebound,- - - Steps
F. Car Level Sensor Basic Position (Front),3.5 V
Rear Car Level Sensor,0.0 V
Rear Suspension Compression/Rebound,- - - Steps
R. Car Level Sensor Basic Position (Rear),2.3 V
Left Servomotor Function,Inactive
Left Servomotor,2.9 V
Left Servomotor Basic Position,3.0 V
Right Servomotor Function,Inactive
Right Servomotor,2.9 V
Right Servomotor Basic Position,2.9 V
Telltale (Check Light),On

So, I must have rear sensor dead, or is it harness that could cause this?
 - R. Car Level Sensor Basic Position (Rear),2.3 V <-- is this some programmed value that ECU uses as reference?

Thanks for any answers!
