Well after finally taking the plunge. I gave the Old Girl a new set of proper boots. X4 Michelin Pilot Sports. Took me 2 weeks get a Saturday appointment for Wim Chesham. So decided park her up and wait. I was expecting to pay £115 for all the adjustments. But they such decent chaps there, they only charged £38+ vat. Only required Toe adjustment. She had new Vx Mv6 springs and shocks fitted couple years ago. Serek fitted wishbones + poly bushes + idler and donuts last April. Coming back down A41 the motor felt completely planted, no more annoying vibration, in all honesty chaps its never been like that since the day I bought her. I guess at the end of the day you only get what you pay for :y

Omega General Help / Tight spot
« on: 15 January 2017, 17:49:15 »
Today chaps I took the plunge, bit the bullet etc and bought a set of 4 Michelin Sport Pilots @ Cost Co. I had intended to go for Goodyear Asymmetric 3 s. But they weren't on offer. I've noticed recently when I turn steering from lock to lock, the last part of travel when locking right, steering gets tight ???. On the locking left it's smooth the whole way only noticeable when stationary .  Now I intend to make an appointment with W.I.M Chesham.  Any thoughts greatly appreciated chaps good or bad :y
Cheers

Omega General Help / Gargling
« on: 30 November 2016, 11:33:32 »
Not been on for while guys, but I notice when I start motor, there only what can be described as a horrendous gargling noise coming from around NS front wing, I'm also getting crankcase fumes through blower. What is this ???. I cleaned the top breathers with brake cleaner about 6 weeks ago
There was a lot of gunk in them. I may have been to slow off the mark with the cleaning as I thought I popped  the rocker gasket on lower right rocker cover bank, looking from front, they were replaced by Daz May 13.
Cheers John

General Car Chat / Big Thanks to Serek
« on: 30 May 2016, 21:19:00 »
:yBig Thanks to Serek :y got the motor back Saturday after leaving it with him for a few days, did a cracking job, attention to detail second to none. Such an improvement in the handling and the brakes are now superb. They were absolutely crap as I trusted a local garage. Anyway Serek replaced W.bones+Polyed them, Donuts, Idler, sorted rear Calipers + New Pads, renewed Brake Fluid, full Service and M.O.T all for a very good price. Pleasure to have met you Serek + Big  :y :y :y to top quality works.
Cheers
John ;)

Aka Mr Ken, I arranged to meet Serek at his place today to have a fair old bit of work done on the old girl, starting with M.o.t and leave the motor with him for other works. Ken then obliged me by arranging to have his work done on the same day, because he new I would be getting the train back. What can I say. I insisted on at least paying for the food, but he was having none it. He then went the extra mile by wanting to drive me to the door even though traffic was steadily building on the M25 at 3.30pm. Just want to say' Ken it was a pleasure to have met again and I really can't Thank You enough, You are a True Gent of the Highest Order  :y :y :y
