Easy Fix DTI ?

Could be as simple as knackered leak off pipes or as serious as a fubared fuel pump,you takes your chance ::) :-X

This is what frightens me about these diesels , the pumps are very expensive arn't they  :-\


Just did a search ...£350 for the pump  :'(

Yep. "I'm not a mechanic and I don't know..." = "I am a mechanic and it's had it"  ;)

Alternatively, given the state of the rear load space, lambing season is over so he's finished with it until next year. ;D

Those VP44 pumps are not hard to fix.

The common failure is the power transistor in the control module burning out (there cooled by the fuel and hence when cranking with air in the sytem is gooses them) and somebody good with a sodlering iron can fix that.

The mechanical parts of the pump are also not to hard to repair.

The only difficulty comes if you need to fit new electronics then it needs setting up on a test bench

Especially if it's a P0400 fault... you can be chasing every vacuum connection, vacuum solinoid and the EGR round!
