I imagine he's got an aftermarket engine management system on it. The OEM one wouldn't work very well without a MAF, as said!

.. and the one remaining multiram doesn't appear to have an actuator on it. :-/

Might be a daft question but why is the pleunum on the wrong way round?
Theres still a load of room in there.

cause of the angle of engine to bonnet it wouldnt fit the other way round !! 

That is a good answer but the capri had a bulge in the bonnet
or is that still not enough?

If you looked at the car from the side with the bonnet up you can see there'd not be enough clearance. The bulge in the bonnet is further back. Well spotted though!

sounds like a big job to me, seen a MK1 fiesta XR2 with imprezza turbo engine fitted.
