ABS Light
« on: 12 March 2022, 17:57:16 »

The ABS light is on in the V70. Sigh...  ::)

My code reader says: ABS-0021 Right front wheel sensor. Faulty signal.

Is that the offside or the nearside?  IE The right side as I'm sat in the car looking out or looking at the car from the front.  ???

TIA!  :y

It was the drivers side that went on my V70 too. Before looking too deeply at it I bought a sensor[can't recall price but cheap enough]and a pair[because they were only £6 the pair]of the rings.Turned out it was just the sensor so the rings are "in stock" if I ever need them.

Damn right.  Although some trim clips arrived next day earlier this week.  Mind you, that wasn't from egay ;D

When it comes to egay, I only seem able to order from sellers who "had to go to hospital" or "had an accident" or such lame excuses ;D.

New sensor fitted.  :y

ABS light came back on!  >:(

I cleared the code and tried again, but the light came back on and now I have a new code.  ::)

ABS-0115 Communication between control modules.  Communication with the steering angle sensor. Signal missing.

So I cleared that and when the lights came back on checked again and this time had the original code again.  ::)  :-\

ABS-0022 Right front wheel sensor. Faulty signal.

Sigh..  :-\

ABS is great!  :y  Until it goes wrong then it's a complete bastard!  >:(  :D

On the upside the Traction Control is no longer playing silly buggers, so that's an improvement, and means the car is more usable.  ::)

They are also known for dry solder joints in the ABS module, but that is a d.i.y. repair so not expensive if that's the cause.

No idea.  :-\

Judging by the position of the sensor I assume it lurks behind the disc, so it's a caliper/disc off job to check it?  ???  :-\  ::)

Thanks Baza, that's reassuring as ABS modules can be very expensive!  :)

Elliott Alvis on YouTube documents a similar issue with his V70R.

Not a straight forward fix.
