Short nose mate - its a '54.   The '55 and '56 cars had the longer nose for higher top speeds. 

[edit]Added - top speeds then in excess of 160mph from a 3.4 lit 6 cyl in line motor chucking out some 250 bhp, 4 speeder g/box .[/edit]

I had an XJ6 and a Daimler Sovereign VP back in the 80's.  So of the XJ v S type I would love an XJR.

Of the other models I drove one of the 1st 5.3 XJS and a late 3.6 model and must admit I wouldnt mind owning a nice 3.6 XJS for a couple of years.

I used to have a diesel XF and I can honestly say it was the dogs dangly bits!  The new 3l diesel is fantastic with 300hp and 500nm torque! All this while giving better mpg and lower emmisions than the 2.7 :o

Tried the XFR and that is a beast of a car, if I had the ponies for it I would have one now :y

I had a 1993 XJ40 with the 12 cylinder 6.0 engine, lovely car but it had on big problem, fuel economy or lack of it :o

Just to add to Andy B's comment the Mk 10 has to be one of the best cars ever made, bit thirsty I must admit and a pity there was never an estate version but totally gorgeous none the less.

XJ220, now before you all have a go.
I know it was a flop. I know it had a V6 out of a Metro rally car, not the promised V12, and it is probubly the most stupidly wide car ever.

But it looks just georgeous. And thats enough for me  :)

My friend got an xf 2.7 diesel.
Nice car but somehow the only Jag for me is the XJ.
Although XK-R would be nice to take for a spin ocasionally ;D
