Another one I've seen recently based around an item you are selling.

The buyer asks you to confirm the number they've sent to your phone. What they are actually doing is trying to reset the password on your Apple/Google account and they need you to give them the PIN.

To find the computer name....
Click on the Start button.
In the search box, type Computer.
Right click on This PC within the search results and select Properties.
Under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings you will find the computer name listed.

Why do you hate them? We have a mix of apple and win10 products. Just about to replace two win10 desktops and aio Imacs are my hot contender rather than hp envy for example.

Overrated, overpriced, overly complicated and less useful than a Windows PC of less than half the cost.

People buy the stuff to be trendy and cool, it's like brand name clothing - you pay a premium for a potentially inferior product.

I really, really could go on and on and on about it, but that's not the point of this thread.

EDIT - I am actually writing this on an iMac. I got an iMac at work to force me to learn the OS better. I find it so frustrating.

Right you need to know the name of the Windows computer to do this.

Open Finder on the Mac. On the menu bar at the top, click go, click connect to server.

In the server address box type....
smb://computername/c$

Replace computername with the name of your computer. It will need a Windows administrator username and password.

How much data are you talking about?

I know my way around Mac's, but I still hate them.

If they are the standard bolts. I'll send you a couple. I was waiting to see if you needed the longer (which I don't have).

The number of expensive cars I see on the cheapest tyres money can buy is rather scary. 'I want a new car and big powah' but the small, contact patch with the road can be as cheap as possible, it's not like it's important! Is it?

Sucking eggs and all that.

As these are thread locked, I would recommend hitting the bolt a few times. I normally use a punch and whack it with the hammer away from the torx slot. This cracks the thread lock and allows for easier removal.

Right, the front end needs to be dismantled to do belt etc; I'm talking bumper, grill, radiator pack, crash bar - to the point you can walk up to the front of the engine.

A lot of jobs require the engine to be completely removed. Also there is a list of special Audi tools required to work on this car.

It'll be a fun car, but will cost you highly. I would certainly be tempted to spend the extra to get a third party assessment of the car. Ideally by someone who knows Audi's. I would suspect they would find a list of things that need doing.

The only reason I use petrol is because I've always got some, always got a container suitable, can buy it locally out of motor factor opening hours and the old petrol from cars that have sat around a while is ideal for cleaning but not so much driving.

Yep. Once you've removed the sealed, the grooves need a damn good clean. The best method I've found is to find an allen key that will just fit in the groove, turn it slightly so it fills the groove and keep running it around until all the crap comes out. Both of these seal grooves need to be spotless. The groove on the piston less so, but still important when you put new pads in. Then the piston wants cleaning, which can be tricky finding something to remove rust without overly scratching the surface. This is without overly cleaning the outside, which is normally petrol in a washing up bowl and paint brush clean.

But before you buy any, it's worth stripping the calliper to see if it's worth spending 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of a new one resealing a crusty old one.

This. It takes me 2-3 hours to clean a caliper up to the stage I am happy to reseal it. Those few specs of dirt might not appear to be much, but if they cause the rubber seal to slightly bind to the piston, you'll get an awful brake feel, as best.

As a rule of thumb, I only recon a caliper if the replacement is not available or is silly money.

Just went through this on my daily driver.

Renewal quote = £360  :o

Quick compare the confusion market search, paid £160 for the year. Oh and Quidco gave me £35 for taking the policy out, so £125.

I'm very happy with that.
