Hello, I'm trying to find the SAI fuse on a v6. I've removed the trim by the bonnet lever on the drivers footwell but I still can't find it, is it under the steering column? Failing that can I just disconnect the plug? Thanks

Hello peeps, I understand the SAI fuse on a V6 is 29b.

Is it in the location identified in this diagram, and if so I can access it by removing the trim right?

Omega General Help / Memory seat failure

Hello, today I noticed my memory seats wouldn't work from either the adjustment levers or the memory settings. All i got was a click noise from that area.

They have both been fine upto now, not sticking etc, so hasn't been gradual, but a sudden stop. It doesn't sound like a fuse a power must be getting there is it is clicking when the buttons are pressed. Also the mirrors don't adjust when the memory button is pressed.

Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Omega General Help / How to take off door lock pins

Hello, I'm going to hopefully fix the rattling pins by wrapping them in tape. How do I get them off - just pull? Or do I have to take the door card off?

Does anyone think the richbrook/irmscher style ones will stop the noise? I think they should as it would be metal on plastic, not plastic on plastic.

Omega General Help / 12n trailer electrics

Hello peeps, I have just taken the towbar off the mv6 ready to put on the elite. i cut the socket wires as the screws holding the socket on the towbar were seized, and it's never going back on the mv6 anyway.

The colours of the wires are:

black/red
grey/red
black/white
black
brown/white
black/grey
black/green
grey

This is obviously different to the normal colour wires. Does anyine have any ideas what they are?

Omega General Help / P/S pump - checking used is ok to fit (working ok)

Greetings all, after my recent MOT, the p/s is a lot stiffer, which I put down to the tester palming the wheel lock to lock whilst getting the car in and out of the tight test bay. It's been stiff on a handful of occasions in the past but it's permanent now.

I have a spare pump kindly provided by charlie. I don't know what car this came off but is there any way to check it before fitting this? The pulley moves freely enough and there's no noises or wobble.

Omega General Help / P.S. problem after MOT

Hi peeps. My 3.0 auto elite has only on a handful of times in the past showed any signs of a weak power steering pump, like very stiff at low revs and almost no assistance at engine idle.

I replaced the fluid after I did my ABS ECU, and it hasn't done the same since. I never give the steering stick, i.e. lock to lock fast, static steering etc.

After its test the steering was rock hard when I first pulled away, then when I gave it some revs got better, but it's been stiffer than normal ever since. To get the cars in and out the test bay requires full lock, and it is very tight.

Does anyone think this has caused it? I'm not going to go and chase them demanding a new pump etc, just curious, it seems like too much of a coincidence.

Also, I know it's been discussed before, but what is the weak point in the pumps? It's ok most of the time. I heard that the relay could be shot,, but surely if that's the case it would be duff all the time? I also heard they're £90 :-/ I have an unknown spare pump.

Aha! Got the music playin and the beer flowing!

Was wondering. I'm after a rear centre headrest for my 2000 f/l leather trimmed elite. I would call the colour cream.

There's an interior for sale near me, looks like it's not gonna sell. The seller reckons it's grey but it's hard to tell from the picture.

Is there grey and cream fitted in this year  or just cream  (i.e. the seller thinks it's grey when it's cream) in which case I'll buy it! Thanks peeps

Omega General Help / Which towbar to fit?

Hello peeps. I'm fitting a towbar to my elite. I wanted a detachable one and found them somewhere at a good price but I left it too late and now there's none left!

Can anyone recommend a good one to fit and perhaps give pros and cons of their own type?

I thought about a swan neck as I think this looks like the tidiest, with the electrics mounted on a hinged plate welded to the underside/towbar, so it can be folded out of sight.

What does anyoe think? Thanks peeps

Omega General Help / Rear springs

Hi all. My Elite just failed its test on broken n/s/r coil spring. I was under there a few weeks back and all seemed ok! I'm just going to check again in a few mins.

Anyway, where is the best place to get decent new springs? Dealers? I have a trade card.

Could I get firmer ones/MV6 springs and fit them whilst retaining self levelling? Or would this cause issues?

Greetings! Can anyone recommend a good towbar for my facelift saloon please? I've got a factory fit detachable one on the MV6 but need one for the elite. Ideally a flange type one, ideally with twin electrics for my caravan. Also, what's a bypass relay, what does that do? Thanks

P.S. I've seen witter ones and heard they're meant to be quite good? How much should i be paying for one? I'll fit it myself, I know they're meant to be type approved and all that.

Omega General Help / Scratch remover

Hello all, can anyone recommend a good scratch remover?

My Elite (nocturno blue) has been keyed along the o/s/r door. Luckily for me it's very shallow but in the wrong light doesn't look right.

When/if I catch them I'll break their bloody fingers, just like the people who took the lead off the roof, twice, and every other bloody scrote in this country, which is getting to a critical minority.
