Yes, but you're very special, and believe the Signum is a special car....

And what codes are in the engine and gearbox?

No codes or warning lights.....the car just got very hot after a while at 50 MPH, which is 5000 rpm in second gear.
If the gearbox was in limp, which sounds like it was if it just picked 1 gear, there will be codes in the gearbox.

Personally I found the resin ones to be poor, I bought these and fitted them, no worse than the originals and should last the life of the car now, certainly been OK in one of mine for the last 3 years.

Yup, look better than resin ones, good find :y

It's NOT the 10th till Sunday  :)
unless you mean another PREVIOUS month or year   >:D
Those were the good ol' days, when you'd get it MOT'd only so you could buy the tax from the PO....

TBH, if the issue you had was a hydro mechanical issue, you're pissing in a force 9 anyway.  Nothing will fix it.  If it was an electronic issue, that needs resolving.

*BUT* gearbox servicing is part of the car's servicing requirements, so needs doing anyway, unless you think the box is shagged.

if self levelling Xeon then is the sensor on the wishbone functional. :-\
MFL CDX will be halogen, unless retro fitted (and I dont know any retrofits that bother with the levelling ;))

I would imagine broken adjusters, unless the lenses are very cloudy.

If it is the lenses, a standard 3M headlight polishing kit will do the job (or even sanding by hand, but then needs effort, LOL).

Broken adjusters are hugely common on Omegas. In the old days, somebody made aluminium ones which were superb, but no longer available.  I think some resin ones are available on ebay?  Fitting requires disassembly of headlight, which is fiddly, and needs popping in the oven.  Mrs TheBoy and I became quite a dab hand at doing them ;D

Heater matrix is also a possibility. I currently have similar symptoms due to a small leak at the matrix.
Which reminds me, I really must get off my arse and replace i soon.
Only use it occasionally, so havent been desperate to do the job.
I would have thought you would have smelt it if it was heater matrix?

If you take to a proper gearbox specialist, they will pump the ATF through, putting in new as it extracts the old.  This gets to a near 100% fresh ratio.

But far cheaper to do it yourself a couple of times, but depends on your CBA levels.
