I feel it's time to retire!
« on: 06 September 2010, 00:48:25 »

My TD is going to fail it's MOT due to neglect, mostly because of me spending 99% of my free time repairing other members cars. I work full time, I spend most of my free time out working on other peoples cars and as a result my life and marriage is suffering! I simply don't have the time or funds to do a suspension/braking system rebuild on my car so I think it'll get broken at the end of the month when the RFL runs out. I'm trying to find SWMBO a run around in the meantime and I'll go back to using the Minor again as it's dirt cheap to run. Still, it was nice while it lasted!

Lee, you cant blame your generosity on you losing your car.  If you need it, you know that there are people on here local to you that will get her all ship shape and Bristol fashion.

Dont give up hope!

That is sad news indeed W however, take it from me, family and quality of life must come first.

I speak from bitter experience.

I do hope that you get things back to normal sooner rather than later.

Good luck.

Happy to help out if I can. Yes, family first, but lots of people here have been helped out by you, time to give something back?

Lee, you've helped me out loads, there's no way I'm going to be able to do work on your vehicle as you know more than I will ever know...but if parts need to be relayed up to you, or anything like that, just let me know  :y

Lee, you have always given your time to others and I really appreciated your help in the past. Much like Josh I can't see myself being able to help you fix your car but i am up and down to the west midlands regularly so if you need any parts moved then give me a shout :y

Just to add to this.  Despite me not knowing this at the time, this just goes to show how much Lee has gone the lengths to help others.  And was a gentleman and a Scholar in helping me with my suspension on Sunday just gone.

With me having a mobility problem, I would of had a real struggle trying to do this by myself.  But Lee being Lee was like a working Ant on my car, running around both sides of the car replacing my Wishbones.  Just hope my car wasn't the straw that broke the Camels back, and it wasn't because my suspension ended up being the bitch of bitches that he had come across doing this type of job !!.  :-? .

There were a couple of moments that the teddies (and other cuddly toys) were thrown out the pram.  But his perseverance paid off, and it got the job done in the end.
What's more, that despite it also raining at the time, he never complained, and just cracked on with the job.
Mind you, think he was happy working under the wheel arch as it was keeping his cig's from getting damp and going out  ;D  ;D .

But in all seriousness, had I known Lee, we could of worked something out rather than you having to do work that you were reluctant to do chap.

Top bloke is our Lee  :y  :y .

And a public thanks for you giving up some of your valuable time in order to help me out.  :y

Wishing you, your wife, and your family better times ahead, and you get sorted out soon.

We're all be here later when you return chap.
You've got my number chap  :y  :y

As already said.. ish...

Put the toolbox away for a week and spend some time with the family. then get it out and fix YOUR car, and no-one else's. Then put it away for at least a month.

Family must always come first.

If I can help in anyway .. yell ..   :y :y

I think lee deserves the "overhaul" treatment, whereas somebody takes his car away from his house so he can get on with personal stuff while a few members fix it up for him, but unlike the programme "overhaulin`" he dont get a ground up rebuild & paint plus he supplies the parts ;D, i dont know where Lee lives but if its close im up for helping, im sure something can be sorted. :y
