Test in a few places round the country recently, underneath the actual Marble Arch in London, 4G USB dongle, speeds of 40mb are being reported.

Is this the end for cable? Why would you pay virgin/bt/anyone for service at home & a wifi router, when you have that speed on a stick anywhere?

Obviously usage limits are to be expected to keep speed up, but still, 40mb anywhere?? (unless you are TB in the back end of nowhere apparently)

Looking forward to a rollout....

General Discussion Area / Dartford Crossing
« on: 10 March 2012, 14:49:23 »
So, since it opened, assuming a pound per vehicle as an average, it's taken over £1.3 BILLION. so why in f*ck are we still paying a toll at dartford?????

http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/projects/4070.aspx

The first Dartford tunnel was built at a cost of £13 million
The second tunnel cost £45 million
The bridge cost £150 million (as has an expected life of 120 years)

So by my reckoning, we've been overcharged by £700 million

At to make it worse, they sold it to the French, so it's not even as if it's going to a good use

Got to meet Twiglet again today as he has bought my car, and as an added bonus he brought Albs.

Would just like to say it was a pleasure to see both, friendly & honest, as I have come to expect from OOF.

Even if he did nearly forget to pay........  ;D ;) ;D

Highly recommended to all

Many thanks

I know they make a noise, which may be to your taste or not, but being stainless it should last forever.

Question is, do they make any difference to the fuel economy?

Cheers

Ok, so she needs a damn good clean, but at 73k, for £1200 with cambelt, service & new battery in the week before collection, I'm rather chuffed! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Full elite leather, Bose, CID + telematics- that all work perfectly..... :y

All I need now is TB's services & I'm away  ;)

She's called Floozy.......no reflection on me, honest  ::)

How is the engine bay cleaner than the car???

Yes, I know, I drink too much red bull... ;)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / NCDC2015/phone etc
« on: 05 February 2012, 00:33:32 »
Finally found a new car, details & pics to follow when I pick it up- but i'm rather happy about it & I promise not to treat this one the same way as the last 3  ::) (that's mainly for Al  ;))

Currently have a full nokia kit with the autoleads adapter in a 2013(thanks to daveDND as always- sorry I bought another BOSE ;D ), but the new car has a 2015 with the phone box in the glovebox. Really can't be doin with seperate sim cards for the car, so wondered how easy it would be to remove the phone module & put my nokia kit in? does it wire in the same way via the multipin behind the glovebox?
Will removing the phone affect the HU in any way? I know the glovebox is small, but with that in it's useless!

Sorry for all the questions, but I'll only have 2 days to swap all my bits over as poxy work in the way as usual, so want all the info before I get stared

Cheers all

It would appear the passengers front Bose driver from the lower door card has developed a hole- and no, I've not been playing full-on nasty techno through it!

Anyone got one?

Omega General Help / To fix or replace?
« on: 01 October 2011, 02:01:37 »
Mine is getting tired, love it as I do, it needs service, cambelt, pads & discs, & probably a new rear o/s shock judging by the fluid falling out of it!

01 3.0 Elite Bose Leather, but with approx 150k, and I don't have time to do any of it myself- I have a friendly mechanic, but still think it's maybe not worth it as bodywork is getting shabby & interior is possibly beyond cleaning.

So, anyone guess what this'll cost to fix? (not cosmetics) & what it may be worth as a scrapper to anyone on here, as oppose to a replacement y or newer in slightly less than OOF condition?

ps. just had new water pump!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Mast question
« on: 16 March 2011, 09:20:52 »
Mine has the rear-window FM/AM ariel as standard.

As this is cr*p, and I have the combined GSM/GPS twig (of which I use neither part), has anyone tried putting an FM on the roof where the other one is, & take the cable from the rear window to it?

Am getting rather bored of 5 different frequencies of the same Heart FM, and don't really want to be bothered with DAB, or not 'til I have no choice anyway
