Yep its now officially an Opel OMEGA... ::)I know the CATERA logo is gonna go away... soon I promise...

This is what it could look when the Catera Logo goes away.... actually it looks kinda awkward... doesn't it?

and maybe even without the V6 emblem... pretty clean ehhh!?

Ohhh and see if you can spot the difference here...

I think it looks kinda empty there without the CATERA logo so I might just keep it... and as to the V6 one maybe that will go away... replace it by OPEL or IRMSCHER... or maybe even STEINMETZ

I would have to say yes.. although I am not sure because the package was plain no names no nothing... but the new ones are with ruber like letters this one is plastic and all the letters are connected... so I guess they are... My dad picked it up on the way back from europe... it was dirt cheap something like 2 EURO... so the quality is not the greatest..

Yep I was home for the weekend so I had to use the OEM plate so I dont get in trouble from the POLICE... it gets enough attention as it is... so it will be back on tonight... I was just in a hurry to get the pictures... and post them on here...

Well all i got is the front grille... the rear cadillac logo off the trunk and the front OEM calipers.... eventually I will be taking the rear wing off and putting on the GTO one that I have.. and the wheels but the are going back on sooner or later... probably as a winter set..

I wonder how much shipping would be to UK... I might be able to sell those parts to you guys... or give away... I will have to figure it out...

Thanks guys... I feel that with every new addition to it, I fall more and more in love with it... I like how its coming out... and I was thinking about selling her some guy was interested and I was asking 9000$ for it... but I don't think I can let her go so easy... the plan was to get an AUDI S8 2001-2003 but an AUDI is an AUDI this CADDY... or should I say OPEL is a car that pretty much doesn't exist here in the states and it gets a lot more attention then an AUDI would... and the AUDIs are expensive to fix... and modify... unlike this one... so she is a keeper for now. I would love to import the 3.2L MV6 from Europe but that sounds pretty impossible right now maybe some day.

The other day I spanked one of those Misubishis with the Turbo 2.0L and it had me till about 100 and then I pulled on him all the way up to 135.. I thought my car was limited at 125 but I guess not... the sucker couldn't believe that I even dared to mess with him... so she is pretty fast... I have a lot of confidence driving around with it... I hardly ever challenge people but this guy was just asking for it..

I have no idea what those look like but I got them from an ASTRA SRi... I think it was an Opel or a Vauxhall.. it was here in the states for testing... so I managed to steal the wheels for dirt cheap...

Man, it pains me to burst your bubble after all the help you've given me but I can't let you live a lie. There is another Opel Catera in The States, Illinois in fact. Check out my album. He has a full Irmscher kit to boot including the Euro lip spoiler. I like your wheels better if that's any consolation.

he even has the side indicator behind the wheel arch instead of on the front bumper!

Zafira and Astra both had those wheels as an option over here, or standard on the sports or SXI models i think

Well judging by the front plate its PL so that is Poland so the guy is probably polish as only we do that kind of stuff.. americans are not likely to change their caddy to OPEL at least I think so... to us the Europeans the OPELs are of a greater value... I am Bulgarian so you see how it goes...

I wish I can find out who he is... darn....

I didnt mean to sell mine but I guess we can find some on ebay and ship them over to your part of the world and then you can maybe do the same for us...

Well Michigan does not have front plate so all the cars here have rear plates only... no one has fronts unless people like me from other states like ILLINOIS... so people in Michigan often put front plates or plates with the logo of the given make or model.... so thats how I can have german plate and not get in trouble.. simply no one cares...

I was gutted because our hire car in florida had a front plate and being a hire car we cant mess about with it

florida doesnt require a front plate either, i like the plateless look on some cars, we had a dodge durango though!

I've seen both with and without plates for Florida so I wonder if they have the plates but they are simply not required... my car didnt have one but I've seen others that have the fronts... some people just drive around without the plate even if its required and i guess police wont bother them untill they notice or they have nothing else to write you up for...

Tinted windows are also allowed there. here in MI and IL you can only do the rear side ones and the back one.

Yep the 97-99model in the states had the long tail light that went across the whole back end.. then the 00-01 got the plastic piece in the middle and the trunk mounted lights were shortened similar to the euro ones. and the same thing with you guys the middle piece is replaceable... just bolted up by 4 bolts I think... under the carpet.. The trunk for the US also has the long 3rd tail light... you guys dont have that or its just very short.

I dont think ours is a replaceable piece, i think its a complete 1 piece metal boot lid with, with the tiny plastic ridge under the round VX badge to lift it...

I am sorry I was wrong... I was under the impression that it was the same piece but I guess its not... it looks like its a different trunk lid... the metal doesn't have the opening for the 3rd tail light and the rest is way different... we don't have a handle or key hole on there... I guess I never really paid attention to that detail... maybe the pre-99 trunk lids are the same or identical.

our 3rd brakelight is in the rear screen at the top

we dont have the keyhole either, remote release

i locked my only key in the boot once, while the doors were deadlocked shut

Yes mine is a 3.0L Drive by Wire, twin throtle bodies... longer intake manifold, not the short one, and also it has the Coil on Plug ignition... as well as different camshafts from the Pre99 model... I dont know why they changed them but the new cams produce the same power but a slightly higher torque curve.

I have driven the pre99 model and it felt different, still as fast but not qutie as torqy... in the higher gears.

I have driven the pre99 model and it felt different, still as fast but not qutie as torqy... in the higher gears.

Not the same as any of the Europe lumps, sounds like a cross between the X30XE and the Y32SE with lower compression.

A Y32SE would speed it up!!

well 185 is a Rear Wheel HP... so I am guessing if 15% drivetrain loss then its somewhere in the 210HP range... at the crank...

Kinda sux I really wanted to slap the 2.6L badge on there but I guess I will have to pass on that... maybe some day when I am visiting europe I will pick up some badges and do the job right.

Well the reason why I wanted to get a different badge is because people dont know these cars that well and as you might kow they weigh in at 3900lbs in the states with the added saftey stuff and comfort/luxury goodies so they are a little slower then the US ones... I thought about putting in a 2.0L or 2.2L badge or even the 2.5L, I figured I might fool someone that its slow so I can mess around with people... but maybe she will remain badgeless for now... just the OMEGA logo..

I found custom letters that I can preorder with whatever I want on them... so I was thinking OMEGA MV6 or VXR, or maybe even OPC... I havent quite decided yet... but I will make up my mind sooner or later and I will update with pictures.

I realize that the Omega logo that I got now is from an old one but what can I do?... :-/

I might have a buyer for my OEM wheels and if they go... I am putting some tires on these 10 spooke Forged ones and installing them on the car...
