General Car Chat / Re: Opel Calibra Keke Rosberg Edition

i fitted a 3.0 lump to mine with a lightened flywheel it was a cool car and went well

Of course. Simply the 2,5 with lightened flywheel and the six gear box of the Calibra Turbo it's already furious and as powerful than a Calibra Turbo. I imagine on a 3.0  :o

Whats the Rosberg connection ? Did he drive one in DTM ? He was one of my favourite F1 drivers back in the day, very brave, aggressive but always fair. Won the title in 82,although he only won one race that year.82 was a very strange year for F1 though.

Keke Rosberg has driven Calibra DTM in 1993 and 1994 with others pilots. After this, he made his team, The "Team Rosberg" and managed many pilots. There was an other team created in 1996, the "Team Joest" with Cliff sponsor and the Pilot Manuel Reuters who won the Championship in october 1996. In 1994, Opel Produced DTM & Rosberg Calibra with limited edition and Cliff model in 1996 available with limited edition.

I remember that Keke Rosberg won the title of F1 with points after accident of Gilles Villeneuve and Didier Pironi. It shows that it was a regular pilot.

I always wanted one of those when I was younger.. got to be the first one I've seen in a while without rusty arches, too (common problem over here - and I imagine anywhere that salt is used.. I presume you just keep yours spotlessly clean at all times :)  :y)

Very nice!

Yes, rusty arches are a real problem for these cars. after 1994 all Calibra have been protected, in fact, intead of two sheets welded to constitute arches, there has been one more wider sheet. But in some countries where there is lots of rain and snow, arches can still rust. So, to preserve my Calibra, I don't drive it when its' raining. It's my second car, I do less 3000 miles  in one year and it's always always clean.

Looks very much like the DTM versions we had over here  :y

Right, DTM and Rosberg are the same. Only plate signatures are different.

Because it's an Opel and because I'm fanatic of this car, I just want you share my passion.

There were 238164 Calibra produced in the world between 1990 and 1997. Among this production, there were 11898 Calibra V6 2,5L 24v (C25xe & X25xe) produced between 1994 and 1997 in the world. We know there were only 997 Calibra with "Keke Rosberg Edition" produced in the world and only in Germany and Suiss country with V6, 16v, 16v turbo engine. We don't know how many V6 Keke Rosberg edition be produced
The Calibra Keke Rosberg Edition was produced when Opel was running in DTM championship. There's a plate with Keke Rosberg signature on the ashtray, she's equiped of BBS rims, Opel Motorsport sets, specific seats, Irmsher spoiler and frame etc...

I've one of those 997 models, the 927 number. I've bought in Suiss in april of 2010.  She is 17 years old with 110000 miles today and remained totally original.
I hnow there is a second Calibra V6 Keke Rosberg Edition in France.

Thanks a lot for your answers.

I tried on Ebay this switch and I found only this :
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-OPEL-OMEGA-HEATER-MOTOR-ACTUATOR-SOLENOID-SWITCH-GM-090512500-/380389070090?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5890f4950a#ht_1150wt_1163

Is this car part is the good part for my problem according to you ? Have you ever removed this part ? Is it simple or difficult ?
Is this car part is not the same part for my car, can you tell me please which reference number is it ?

Thanks all !

Omega General Help / Problem brake control
« on: 08 September 2012, 19:54:40 »
Hello,

I've a problem to unlock the parking gear because, probably,  the control of my brake doesn't  work all the time. I've seen sometimes break lights don't work either even if i push strongly on the break. Someone can tell me where does the problem come from ? I think the problem is the break sensor, perhaps ? Sorry for my poor english, i'm french.
Tanks a lot

It's not quite the same weels if you look closely.

I think rear spoiler, front bumper and this weels emerged after 2001, not ?

I d'ont like my interior plastic wood finish. I 'm looking for a gray interior plasqtic like about this version of your internet link. All cars I've seen with thoses plastics  were maded after 2001 in France. I Can't find this plastic completed.

I like this front bumper too. :y
