Blaupunkt cdc2 changer
« on: 09 June 2007, 13:06:03 »

Hi all, I bought an Omega Elte 3 months ago from a dealer.Unfortunately the CD changer does not work despite many attempts at inserting code and the seller having the unit decoded. The dealer now says that it has to be returned to Blaupunkt because the code has been incorrectly inserted more than ten times.Has anyone else had this problem,if so is there any way around it as the dealer now says it's my problem.I do not want to change the system as everything else works perfectly.

Many thanks in advance

No, the dealer is correct.  Quite a few come up cheaply on Ebay, but be aware there are different types of CDC2, and they are NOT interchangable...

It may be possible to remove the PROM that contains the code, thus unlocking the unit. I was offered this service for a later model changer by this chap http://stores.ebay.co.uk/SOUNDMASTER-SCOTLAND-COM. It's worth e-mailing him to see if also applies to your model.

Its not, the unit uses a microcontroller with built in flash....so its new pre-programmed micro time....if you can find one.

Yup you are right. Almost immediately after posting to the forum I found a chap on Ebay who was selling 10 CDC2's Factory recoditioned for £49.95 each. Actually turned out to be brand new in original packaging. Now I can trundle down the road to the dulcet tones of Engelbert Humperdink.
Many thanks for the advice received.

Wanted to ask here first before posting another CD Changer problem as it may be similar to this thread.

Just bought a Meg with the 4 CD 2006 changer but...

Tape works, Radio works, but stick the CD Cartridge in and press CD - it says "Magazine" on the display then changes back to Tuner every time.

Also, it ejects the mag if you press the button but when you stick it back in, you need to push it and close the door manually.

Anyone got any clues to what is up?

cheers,

Brian.

Thats not good.....as there is no way of entering a code into the CD section of the unit.

I did wonder if the CD needs to be reenabled via Tech2.  I know this needs to be done on NCDC series if you mis-program it ::)

Possibly worth getting in touch with these people

Well, that is 100% what the problem is, thanks for that Mark.  Will check first to see if the local Vauxhall garage can fix and if not, may send it to these people.

As said, I wonder if it just needs the stereo to be told it has a CDC unit again.  If you were nearer, I would offer to attempt to run the Tech2 for free on it.

Reason I suspect it may just need a Tech2 was because when I did my first CID upgrade to someone's car, I left the config with no cd player configured, and he had exactly the same error when attempting to use CD.  A quick chat with the Tech2 resolved. This was an NCDC series stereo though...
