2.5 tds gearbox conversion
« on: 01 February 2023, 19:46:29 »

Hi guys, I’m new to the whole forum thing. I have an 03 2.5 tds converted omega.
I’m looking for some information on gearbox conversions as I’m having problems with the 2 5 speeds I’ve put in. They seem to be a soft enough box.

Was thinking about the e39 manual m57 box? It might suit more to the abuse I give the car?

Any suggestions or advise as to how to go about this conversion if it’s been done before?
Or
Has anyone put any different box into these cars that are strong enough for daily driving and abuse?

Thanks in advance hopefully I don’t sound to stupid haha

The R35 Omega box is pretty robust, but being a BMW engine, you might need a BMW box. Would the 6 speed from the M5 work? Obviously it depends on the bolt pattern...
