In my attempts to change the oil/filter I put an axle stand under the nearside chassis leg and when I finished I forgot to remove it resulting in me trying to move the car with it still there and it got lodged under the transmission mount and promptly cracked it, so now I've got to find another one  >:(.

Started to fit new rear dampers to the 190. Jacked it up on the rear jacking point only for it to come back down when the jack went straight through the floor, exposing a serious amount of rust.  ::) :'(
Take two - jacked it up at a different point and start to remove the damper  and realised that 26 years of  exposure to the elements had welded everything together. It took some doing but I finally got the lower mount undone only to find the top mount had no intention whatsoever of coming off. Had to angle grind through the nut to get it off.
Managed to get one new damper fitted. Will have a go at the other side tomorrow, then cut out the rust and try to locate my friendly welder man and hope he is sober enough to weld it up for me.

Yesterday -finished touching up the little stone chips & scratches on the Omega. got the machine polisher and G3 out and mopped it. Then washed it, polished it with Meguiars something or other, and it looks georgeous.

Replaced rear brake discs and pads, replaced handbrake shoes - no vibrating when braking now.
Also replaced both front wheel bearings.....I expected no bearing noise after it but still getting some. I plan to replace rear bearings next saturday. If that won't cure the noise I'll change the tyres

I would want to be absolutely certain that the rear wheel bearings were the cause before I changed them. I've done several, made tooling to make it possible and would still rather do other jobs! Tyre noise aside, bearing noise could just as easily be the diff bearings or the propshaft.

A friend has a garage and pro tool for bearing pull out, I wouldn't dare even dreaming about replacing those myself  :-X Is there a way to exclude propshaft and diff bearings noise?
