Omega General Help / 2.2 dti screechy turbo

Hi. My 2.2 dti makes a loud screechy noise, that appears to follow the turbo. Although it has no EML and it seems to boost as it should. I have changed the turbo, downpipe gasket and manifold gasket, and it still makes the same noise... 

The pipes to and from the intercooler look free from splits or oily marks from an air leak, as does the intercooler. Does anybody know of any common problems that cause this? Or a way to pressurise the inlet to find out?

Hi. Does anybody know of a supplier, or have 2 rear subframe / diff mounts spare? The 2 U shaped ones at the rear of the diff that mounts the subframe to the floor. The part number is 90447197.

They seem quite difficult to obtain. Even from Vauxhall stealerships...

Does anybody know if there is a special guibo joint for the 2.2 dti? Vauxhall car parts hav a 127x30x50 one for a tenth of the price that measures the same?

Omega General Help / 2.2 dti egr valves

For the 2.2 dti there are 2 different egr valves. One with a black plastic top and one that is metal, does anybody know what the difference is?

Omega General Help / Misfire / flat spot on overrun 2.2 dti

Hi. I have a 2.2 Dti which starts and runs perfectly, other than a small misfire, judder, flat spot type thing on overrun / light throttle pedal.
This always happens at around 1500 rpm and at 1/2 inch throttle pedal position. The management light isn't on, and the vacuum system seems all ok. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. Whilst looking through the vacuum fittings for perished ones, I found a black box on the back of the cabin filter housing with two vacuum elbows into it? What is it?

Omega General Help / 2.2 dti engine vacuum solenoids

Hi. Having looked at the vacuum system today to get to the bottom of a misfire around 1500rpm, on a 2.2 Dti Y22DTH engine, I tested the solenoids for EGR, boost and swirl flaps. And when vacuum is applied to the vac terminal with a hand pump, it makes a vibrating buzzing noise and vacuum is lost. Does this mean a k*******d solenoid or do they all do this?

Hi. I have a 2003 Omega 2.2 dti estate. My problem is that the engine seems to vibrate and make a drumming noise through the car below 1500 rpm, in any gear. Otherwise the car starts and drives ok?

Omega General Help / Omega 2.2 Dti head removal

Hi. Following an episode of bad starting from cold, I attempted to change the glow plugs. The front one came out no problem, however the back 3, the 10mm head was just spinning leaving the rest of the glow plug stationary. I snapped the top off one to attempt drilling it out and retapping with a M10x1.0 tap. And soon realised I was going to make a mess of things, so admitted defeat, and intend to remove the head and take it to have them machined out.

I am going to embark on removing the head, Is there anything I should be wary of, timing chains etc.

Omega General Help / Omega 2.2 dti cuts out when cornering left...?

Hi. Around a month ago I purchased a 2003 omega CD 2.2 dti estate. Running quite rough. After changing the MAF sensor,  cleaning the swirl flap assembly (and finding only 3 flaps...)  and also changing the badly perished and collapsing vacuum U bend from the vacuum pump to the entire vacuum system, the car now runs fine. Until you corner left pretty hard. When it seems to "kangaroo" and blue smoke comes from the exhaust. In a straight line,  or cornering right, it pulls smoothly. Has anybody heard of this before?

Omega General Help / 2.2 dti throttle butterflies inlet manifold

Hi. I have today removed the inlet manifold from my 2003 omega 2.2 dti,  and I noticed it only has 3 throttle butterflies,  is this normal?
