(THE ELITE) Just gone to use the cd in the car and pressed number # on keypad to load a different disc and it started to make an awful noise, as though something is grinding inside - needless to say I get cd error and cannot get the disc magazine to eject.  Is it a breaked ncdc now or something simple to repair.

(THE CD) My cdr 2005 comes up with error cd, I'm assuming someone before me has been playing discs they shouldn't have been - is this another breaked cd player.

On both counts TIA

I've just fitted cruise control, and wouldn't recomend not putting the correct switch on the brake pedal. It means if you hit the brakes in an emergency, the cruise control would NOT disengage.

To be honest, it wouldn't cost that much to buy a 4 pole switch.

It WILL disengage on an auto  :y

It certainly does disengage, tried and tested :y

Yes, manual only.

Often the standard brake switch is just 2 wire and needs changing (you can short the 2 cruise wires out to prove this and as a workround)

Have checked brake switch, you were spot on Mark - standard 2 pin. Have jumpered this for now :y.  If this is not changed what would be the consequences/implications in the future :exclamation.  The cruise function works as it should, releases when brake pedal pushed :y. Obviously there is a reason for 4 pins just wondered what the 2 pins do which have been jumpered.

Cheers

Easiest diag method is to tech2 it!

I assume the brake switch is the correct type (4 pin) and the clutch switch is fitted (if appropriate)?

This I will check today - I'l post up later to confirm.  Clutch switch is that fitted for manual only.  Mines the 2.5 auto.

Cheers Mark

Sorry lads/lasses

Have searched but unable to come to a conclusion.  On the 2.5 cd I have it's got all the bits and pieces in place (switch, actuator blah blah), but the Basteward thing don't work.  I have checked the basics such as fuses, can't seem to locate K14 though (I am assuming this is for DBW only or am I mistaken).  Anyway any help would be appreciated as I know you guys will.
Perhaps one day I may be able to give a little more back.  But I'm still learning from you guys/girls.

Thanks

update - had climate panel out and found that someone had put a bullet connector on the back of cig lighter, now seems to work - burn on finger to prove it.  problem i have now is radio (ncdc 2013) is playing classical music and gid only showing BOSE.  Any help appreciated :'(
Does the backlighting on the NCDC2013 light up, and if not, do steering wheel controls work for it?  If so, I bet the front panel has come adrift.
Actually, I'm talking partial 'dangle berries', as display would still show relevent info. Display has to be due to no comms with radio.

ill take radio back out and check connections, cheers tb
