Omega General Help / Help..................
« on: 08 March 2009, 12:40:53 »
i've got problem with my car...
drove it home from work on friday and it was fine.
i swapped my blue plenum for a new powder coated one that i have had done.
this is where my problem starts...
it now doesn't tick over after the initial warm up (auto choke i presume).
it shakes on low revs, and on high revs is emits black smoke.
It also seems to be using loads of petrol, even just trying to start it, you can just wtch the miles dissapearing on the display.
it also smells.
i've taken the powder coated plenum off and put my blue one back one, so it is back to how it was on friday.
but the problem is still there.
its not the plugsas i have taken them all off and checked them.
I also took it to the garage and put £30 of fuel in it thinking it may be that.
the car does drive okay after about 2000 revs, but on low revs it just cuts out, and doesn't look well at all.
any ideas??????????

Omega General Help / Re: Vacume ecu compressor??
« on: 09 March 2009, 11:18:54 »
that sounds like the little blighters, i have the drawing on my screen, but it doesn't tell me which way the pipes fit onto them.
but if you say it goes in on the top and out on the side, thats good enough for me...
just wan't sure which way tbh, trying to cross everybridge to sort the car...

Omega General Help / Vacume ecu compressor??
« on: 09 March 2009, 11:09:32 »
What are the little black plastic things on the back of the multi ram, plenum and by the air injection valve?
Just wondering, as i have a problem with my mv6.
Which way do they connect?
I have a copy of the breather set up in front of me, but it doesn't show in too much detail whicj way the pipes should be connected to them?
I'm presuming it would make a lot of difference if the breather pipes were connected to them the wrong way round??
Hope you all can understand my question

it did get me wondering.
I have a panel filter, a new air resonator, gas flowed throttle body, super 4's and a set of fuelcat ht leads and a direct air feed.
so i thought after all that being fitted, get an engine tune.
the garage that is doing the work also does remapping.
but i was just curious as to what he will be doing??
he said it will take between an hour to an hour and a half.

Omega General Help / engine tune...
« on: 25 February 2009, 17:16:51 »
i'm having my car tuned on saturday as i have had a couple of changes under the bonnet.
my question is, what do they actually do on an engine tune to make a difference??
its been a while since i had an engine tuned, the last one had a carberator.
i don't claim to be a mechanic, but it is nice to know what he'll do.

Omega General Help / rear disc help
« on: 21 February 2009, 18:19:37 »
as above, i have just started to notice that my discs are nearly down to the metal.
i have taken a wheel off, and tried to make a start, but cannot get the disc off.
the problem i am having, the small screw that holds the disc in place, any idea what size it is??
it looks like a torx to me, but a t05 is too small, and a t40 too big.
Am i having a blonde moment?
halfords don't sell a t35...
help
