I've very recently had an issue with my LSD (yesterday) and ordered these from Opie Oils:

Silkolene BOA 90 LS High Performance Gear And Limited Slip Differential Oil -1 Litre

REDLINE Limited-Slip Differential Friction Modifier / Break-in Additive -0.118L (4 US Fluid Ounces) Bottle

They'll both be here tomorrow :)

I might be wrong, but I thought the BOA90LS already has the correct friction additives?

I think so. The additive is there to reduce temps during initial running of a new diff, where the clutch packs and bearings are tight and you get higher than normal temperature.

Not like the GM additive which is just a viscosity modifier. Again this is just info ive found reading the internet, so as with most internet knowledge , it could be complete balls!

I thought so too .. Paul is probably best off giving Opie a bell though if we're not 100% sure; Simon/Guy/(I'm sure there's a third fella) will know I'm sure.

Ahhhh... Well the plan is to do it on Sunday as the chatter is getting every so slightly more noisy, so ideally i would like to get the oil in there asap.

After some considerable googling I found a discussion surrounding the clutch-type LSDs in Subarus, and the BOA 90LS was the recommended oil for those (with no additional additives needed)  :y

Just in case anything goes wrong.. it's not my fault  ;D But yep, that was as good confirmation as I could find - the Silkolene website shows only bike oils and their datasheets are .. not much use to me  :-/
