Well I stand corrected. As they say everyday is a school day. 98 versus 95. I've got a spare 3.0litre engine I rebuilt almost 20 years ago. Back then pistons were mega expensive. The engine had covered 208 k miles. The machinist managed to find some pistons which were half the price however they were bigger dia. I ended up with a lump just under 3.1 and I had a ported head done for it. Covered around 4 k miles before I had to scrap the car. I kept the engine and it's sat in the workshop all covered up with the pots and engine filled to the brim with oil. Must get it fitted to the gsi. It went like the hairy clappers.

Oh god now I'm gonna have to go down to the back of the workshop and measure my old block I'm positive both 3.0lt and 4.0 lt 24 valves were 98. 3.6 Irmscher 12 valve was 96. Do you know how dangerous my workshop is? There's all sorts of strange and wonderful life forms down there

Where you getting your info from?

Found out I've got a wonky wheel  :( So it's either buy new tyres for the 17's or get the 18" wheel fixed. I'm going for the latter

Bloody pikeys paying nowt fer ya gaaaaas look!!!!!! Cheapest is still 71 here which is a right con. The bloody stuff is only made 15 miles down the road and to rub salt into the wound I bloody make it!!!!

This will be the 3rd time Ive told you this now Doz,  ;D  ;)

Lima Fuels Southampton, 63.9p reported on 10.5.2013.  :y

They maybe listed as Southampton but they are so far away from and across the Itchen river. I never venture over there. I'd have to pay the toll on the bridge and then by the time I've driven there it will work out the same as locally.

You may be wrong there. There isn't a lot of meat to be boring them which is why they are always stroked

Just had to take my 17's off and fit my 18's as one of the tyres started to delaminate!!! It's an old Pirelli which the PO threw on when he got a flat. I'd say it was made around the time of creation (and on the 8th day God made tyres). So to match up the wheel with the other 3 tyres I have has anybody got a Triangle tyre? part worn or new but must of been made this century and not as smooth as my baby bottom. Want to keep the set of 17's as I'll need to refurb the 18s at some point.

Not noticed any key issues and not told it to do anything other than play some Cliff. I'll check the settings if that don't work I'll sell it and buy a Lada to blast out my Gina tracks

Well this is new. I get to work this morning and if going to work wasn't enough of a shock I pulled the key out and the stereo stays on. So I double check but nope nothing I do will make it switch off unless I push the power button. So has the stereo decide to have a mental break down on constantly playing non stop Jason and Kyle...... with a bit of Rick mixed in. Or is my ignition switch just about to leave me at the side of the road?

Yep that's the gist of it. In fact the only change to head was some machining to lower the compression ratio. Otherwise that's the same to.

maybe an after market kit but LC's don't use any different valve train bits than the gsi except for exhaust valves which were same in size but apparently filled with sodium.
