I fear they will be higher than the Omega. Tyres, brake pads etc I've already found some costings and they are higher. I do have the 19" wheels fitted so if you found one with the smaller rims then price will be lower. Also brake pad price seems to very greatly. With EBC's coming in with 150 for fronts and 60 for rears.Disc prices seem much more reasonable.

If you love your sense of smell for the love of God never give your Dog pig's ears. I've seen walls decay in front of my eyes from the related air biscuit caused by Pig ear consumption

Well the car performed great. I did an awful lot of running around the lanes while I was down in Cornwall and I got 33 MPG (by calculations) to a tank/ On the run home Saturday evening I had a good run back to Southampton and sticking to the speed limits I managed 38 MPG. As my run to work is normally done at around the 40-60 range I hope to get a tank average of 40 MPG. Car is amazing and a worthy successor to my Omega being extremely comfortable. Being able to change suspension setting on the go to suit your mood is good fun. So I'm a very happy bunny.

Had 3 Passats. They maybe made by the same company but they are leagues apart. I have yet to find a switch or fitting which has been used on both. The ride home was a real eye opener. The ride, noise levels etc were a real eye opener. I've not been in a modern Bentley or Rolls Royce but I've never experienced anything like it.

ooooh  :D I'm getting all excited. Just OOF to pick up the new motor. Will give you an update when I get home. I phoned the local VW dealer checking for recalls etc and he was gobsmacked by all the extra on the car. It was first registered to VW UK. We're not sure what for but she may have been a Press car. I also had the thought she may of been a demonstrator but apparently they are registered locally by the dealers. so anyway no recalls outstanding and the service history is to the letter of the law including brake fluid and coolant changes all done on time. Last major service done in March so I've got another 15 months or 18k miles before next one. TBH I never let the oil go that long even if it is longlife. I will look at changing the oil at halfway. I hope you lot still make me feel welcome. I find the VW forums a bit prickly for my liking    :y :y

What's the going rate for Wedding cars these days? Well she is a LWB thought she could earn her keep  :D :D

I know "how many left" isn't exactly right about the number of cars but it says there has only been 21 LWB 3.0 tdi's registered and going by the dates mine is the first one. Should I be worried  :-\ :-\

The Phaeton's are suprisingly similiar to the Flying Spur. They do indeed have the same chassis, but there are lots of cross-over parts, switches, clusters etc.
However, knowing it cost just over £9,000 to replace a Flying Spur gearbox I'd be hesitant about a bargain W12 Phaeton.
I'm not one to be worried about MPG, but the W12 really does drink the fuel. A Supercharged RR will get through the fuel, but I used to get through £20/£35 a day just running around in a Flying Spur.
I suppose a V6 Petrol Phaeton would be the bargain pick of the bunch.

Lots of parts are marked as Bentley apparently. VW uses a much more traditional gearbox all be it 6 speed auto (X12 gets a 5 speed auto) so I don't think the gearboxes are cross over. Only engine is the W12.

Cheapest one I found when looking was 3.2 petrol which was under 3k. That's daft money for such a lot of car.

Does this mean the Elite is going?

Yes. I have to decide if I'm going to try and find the vibration problem or break it. The money is in breaking it. She has 18" Irmy rims, CID and a LSD (which maybe knackered). Shame only done 74k miles and is a nice rot free one with a excellent Stag LPG fitted.

Yea. It had been part X'd. She's a late 2007 so benefits from the upgrades, so she has the better injectors and improved cam chain tensioners so no rattle on start up. As for price I guess it was a fair amount of money but it wasn't mega amounts. We're not even talking 15k  however it was more than I normally spend on cars by a fair few quid. We normally have just one modern car in the house hold but what with the LC, VW Camper and the Omega I was forever always working on cars so the wife beat me up, smacked me bum and sent me to the dealers with only one requirement "no fixer upper". I looked at another one this morning and it was in a bit of a state, 18k more miles and only 1500 quid cheaper. I'm glad I pushed a little harder with the cash as the difference in quality is loads. My one has the air conditioned, massaging seats which are proper mad  :D :D
