Range meter?
« on: 08 October 2007, 23:01:15 »

Hi guys quick question do any of you know roughly how many miles your range meter says from being on the red (just touching)  when you put 20 pounds fuel standard unleaded, what sort of range does your onboard computer say you have this is for 2.5 v6 petrol engines. ??? mine is around 100 is this normal???

The range indicator varies depending on how you have been driving the car for (I think) the last 20 miles or so ...

This can easily be seen by doing 20 miles with a heavy right foot followed by 20 miles with a very gentle right foot... the range will start to rise ... quite quickly as it happens !!

It is an indication and not something I would trust overmuch ... it won't know about the 20 minute hold up just around the corner when you are down to 15 miles indicated and 12 miles to home !!
