I noticed earlier on today that I have not got any illumination around my light switch.
Is it an easy job to replace the bulb(s)?

Yes. Thin blade down either side of the switch assembly around the middle to release the clips and pull it out

Cheers, how many bulbs are in there? Do you know the size?

There is a single twistlock bulb accessed from the rear - I don't know the wattage but it similar to those in the climate control.

Maybe whats wrong with mine the symbols at the top of the panel are very dim when switched on, does it sound as though the bulbs are ready to die.

Yep one either side where the arrows are.
I think there are two bulbs that need changing.

EPC shows the bulb is actually 0.5W - part number 91149588. It also seems to imply that it's just the one bulb?

You're better off removing the 'D' shaped panel from the end of the dash board and pushing the switch out from behind, it's too easily marked by pushing things down the side.

I also found it easier to push it out from behind, via the side pannel but I found that the side spring/clips can get bent out of shape if not disengaged first.
I've also taken the bulb out of the spare light switch next to me (which I have yet to use) and it's a 1.5W. :-/

This is also the case with mine. Additionally, the air vent control does not light up on the driver's side, whilst all the others do. Up to now I have just kind of ignored it. Might have a go with the switch..........

Spent about 3/4 hour this morning trying to remove it without damaging the trim, doesn't seem to want to unclip.
Question, are the clips attatched to the switch, or the panel either side.
I presume they are attatched to the switch.

Yes there is one sping metal clip either side of the switch unit, on a level with the centre of the round light switch, within an inch of the face.

If you have an old set of radio removal keys from say a pioneer or something they maybe worth ago what with being flat.

The latches are flat plate springy things at each side, about mid height. They attach to the switch unit about 40mm back so try a couple of your best table knives, slide them in horizontally above the clips then rotate the blades down and towards you.
If you remove the air vent you can get a better grip on the switch.
iirc the lighting for the off/side/main panel is by leds, and there is no overvoltage or reverse polarity protection for them, they are easy to change if you are competant with a soldering iron.

Do all the lights shine up on yours since the change.
Just read matchless's post shall have to see about getting a soldering iron and some L.E.Ds

There was a similar problem with the Vectra B lightswitch, the early one's weren't very bright and Vx were putting higher wattage bulbs in after customer complaints. :'(
As the light switches look very similar that may explain why there are different bulbs in them.
