Paint Codes
« on: 02 August 2006, 09:17:50 »

Hi Guys. I need to find the paint code for a 94 cdx, I assume its on the plate on the bonnet rail, but how does the number start?

On my Omega it's on the second row of numbers, not the first long number, but the next shorter number.
On mine it is 2AU, on yours it could be one of many.
Check out this website.  http://www.paints4u.com/GetColour.aspx?ProductID=5020http://www.paints4u.com/pdffiles/vauxhall_opel.jpg
If you enter the make, year and colour it will give you a choice. One of them will be right.
Or enter what you think is the colour code and see what happens.
Also check this, but that isn't where the code is on my car!  http://www.paints4u.com/pdffiles/vauxhall_opel.jpg
Best of luck. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Paint code usually starts with Z***. Sometimes it is not under the bonnet at all, but should then be on the drivers B post.

Don't like to argue with the master but......
Maybe they changed it on later cars, but the colour code on the plate on mine seems to be 2AU which is Star Silver on this website. http://www.paints4u.com/GetColour.aspx?ProductID=5020

OK. So, now I'm totally confused.
I thought I knew the colour for my car; 2AU-Star Silver; now that I've looked at the plate on the door post, it looks like it should be Z157. (sorry RonaldMcBurger) [smiley=embarassed.gif]
Paints4u.com; http://www.paints4u.com/GetColour.aspx?ProductID=5020  ; don't recognise this code.
What's all that about? [smiley=huh.gif]

Sorry to keep banging on about this. I'm just trying to get my head round it.
The plate under my bonnet says 2AU. Paints4u recognises this as Star Silver III.
The sticker on the doorpost says Z157.Where does the Z157 fit in. Does this refer to a particular batch of the colour, giving an exact match?
Is this only available from Vx?

I have the Vx Star Silver touch-up paint kit (paint and lacquer, 12ml each) left-over from my previous Omega (my current one is Midnight Black). If is sort of half-full but there is still some left - enough to cover quite a few scratches. If this is good for you then PM me your postal address and I'll send it to you.

Interestingly, I have it in the original Vx box and there is no paint code on it anywhere... in fact the only way you could tell what colour it is by the cap. Strange. My offer still stands if anyone wants to take a chance on it :)
