Hoping for some help on this... Only had a very quick look this evening.

Has a battery drain with ignition off. Battery and alternator test ok.

In addition... MID doesn't work, just flickers. Radio doesn't work. Auto button on climate doesn't work properly. All switches on driver's door control panel (windows, mirrors etc) don't work.

Hoping someone can shed some light for me to save me many, many hours of fault finding!!

Surprised not to see anything about this on here.

Update this morning said there are still signs of life so fingers crossed.

I'm sure all of our sympathies go out to the families of those involved

Not such good service from LG. They had my G3 mobile for 3 weeks in January to repair a fault. Returned it (or not as it turned out!) and same fault 3 days later! Supposed to have been fast tracked the second time it went back but it was still at mine 4 days later!!

Finally they look at it and discover they sent me back someone else's device!! They admit that they've lost mine but, 2 weeks from the first call to report the same fault still being there I am still waiting for "Management" to sign off for a replacement! >:(

I've been pretty patient up until today but today I lost it when I got an email to say they were delivering someone else's handset to me on Tuesday, despite being told last Tuesday that it was being sent to Customer Resolutions! ::)

Be interesting to see what happens on Monday... Even if management sign off first thing Monday morning I won't see the replacement until Wednesday at the earliest! ::)

Feel better for that rant!! Night all.... ;D

General Discussion Area / Interesting "Rules of the Road" question
« on: 14 February 2016, 22:05:18 »
Just interested really... The end of my road has a Stop sign but Give Way lines on the road... Which takes priority? :-\

(For full disclosure, it's a private road joining another private road so slightly irrelevant... Just always wondered!)

General Discussion Area / Quick VAT related question
« on: 19 January 2016, 22:53:58 »
I know that the answer to this is "ask your accountant" but, for reasons I'm not going into now, I wanted to ask here too....

My business is VAT registered. I am now looking at doing some consultancy work myself in addition to the current business. Do I need to charge it through the business and therefore charge VAT? Or can I just account for the income separately on my tax return? :-\

Thanks in advance people :y

Evening guys... Nothing major really but wondered if anyone had a diagram for the Aux Belt routing?

A friend's has shed it today and I'm fixing it tomorrow for him. I've found a couple of pictures but a diagram would be easier to use ;)

Thanks in advance :y

Oh... With AC. Belt is 6PK1625

General Discussion Area / Looking for specialist switches
« on: 18 August 2015, 21:38:12 »
After some suggestions to save myself a few pennies... I need to replace some switches in my vans because I want a higher standard. I'm after sealed, intrinsically safe switches. Some are just on-off, some are on-off-on. They can be in an enclosure if the price is right.

Anyone got any suggestions?

General Discussion Area / Non fault accident
« on: 16 July 2015, 22:50:26 »
Not me, mother. In Tesco  petrol station 10 days or so ago and some dosey tart in a 4x4 reversed into her not once, but twice!! Written off the vehicle 15 yr old 306 estate.

Here's the issue... Her insurance company (Tesco) had to be informed to get them to recover it but acted so quickly they had inspected and declared it a Cat B(!) within 2 working days. They have decided that 143k is high mileage and reduced value by £68 and knocked her for pre accident condition. LV (other party) are now refusing to make an offer because Tesco have (incorrectly) declared it Cat B. So... She ends up with an offer that fails to put her into the position she was in pre-accident  >:(

OK... She made a mistake... I told her not to let them take the car anywhere other than home but the long and the short is that we have had to accept an insulting offer as an interim payment and lodge a complaint with the FOS because Tesco were TOO Efficient in valuing the vehicle!

Frustrating thing, and I've argued this with Tesco, is that the engineer is wrong... It should be Cat C, not B. We have an old car, different shade of blue but otherwise identical, with a knackered engine (or was it gearbox?) so I could have repaired the damage (Bonnet, slam, wings, Rad, headlamps and possibly bumper) with minimal outlay (some coolant and possibly some fixings) but because the Tesco engineer categorised it incorrectly she is now stuck with no car and a payout of less than half the market value of the vehicle due to his "expert assessment"!!

Rant over... Just gotta deal with FOS for her now ::)

Should add, I've been dealing from 2 days later and have informed both companies that they have tried to bully and take advantage of a woman in her 60's >:(

« on: 20 March 2014, 21:35:00 »
Quick question as per the title. Got an ETS/Eternal exhaust comng for my 3.2 estate and will need a pair of chavvy exhaust trims to get it to clear the Irmy bumper. Anyone remember off the top of their head what diameter the tailpipes are please?

I want to try and get them ordered ASAP as my MOT is out and I need to get the car back on the road.
