Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Wanted: Wheel centre badges
« on: 11 March 2015, 14:18:14 »
Hi all,
I'm after 4 wheel centre cap/hub cap badges. Either the ones attached to centre caps or hub caps  ??? - the chrome finish plastic ones.  I don't necessarily need the actual cap itself as I'd be separating them anyway to transfer onto different caps - but will save you the trouble if they're still attached  ;)
As long as the finish is still reasonable - I'd be interested  :y

Thanks
Ian.

Hi Robsey,
Would you be able to salvage the boot badges for me. I don't need the 3.2 - but the rest of the lettering would be good if possible.
Cheers
Ian.
Cancel that Robsey - sorted  :y

Cheers
Ian.

What small world Josh - I absolutely loved this car and I'd have it back in a heart beat  :'( but economics of 2 teenage drivers and lack of space just don't add up for it  :'(
May I ask where the other wheels went  ::) - I thought they looked amazing ..

The colour is just stunning when it's polished, (doesn't look bad now though still  :y) and it'd be great to see it stay on the forum peeps.
Nice one Josh - hope very much to make the high Wycombe meet in May too - I'll bring the wash kit  ;D

 :-X :-X :-X :-X knickers.

Sorry peeps - I had every intention of coming along to this. I also had a  :-[ significant birthday celebration over the weekend and completely forgot about it until about 2pm yesterday afternoon. I'll put it down to the significant number  :P. I had an Aston Martin and Range Rover to play with - so was a bit occupied  ::)
Really really sorry to have missed it.
Thank you Tony for stepping in to cover the photos - looked like a great turn out too.
I see my old one was there too  :'(  :'( - maybe it was just as well I forgot.

Keep in touch all - I'm still here, but just as a spectator at the moment  :y

Cheers
Ian.

My neighbour has an X red Honda Civic with 'OOF' suffix if anyone might want to make a offer. I think they'll be scrapping it or selling it on soon  ???

You need to decide how long you want to keep it for too.  :y

Omega General Help / Re: Smell of oil, bemused! Any ideas?
« on: 07 January 2014, 17:48:43 »
Going back to the original post. As you've had an oil change, you sure you haven't spilt a small amount of oil down the filler pipe onto the manifold and it's just burning off.
I know it can be a bit tricky getting that first spout of oil in the neck if you're not using a funnel  ;)

So - never seen a log conversion before  ;D. I think the cost versus space benefit is a bit boarder line though.. :P

Hi PhilRich, what's your experience of night time resolution. I have a cheap one that is supposed to have 'night vision' with IR leds on the front of it - but the image just looks dark to me except for the 4 feet in front of the car ?
[/highlight]

Hi ianu ;)
Nightime picture quality will be entirely down to available light levels & the quality of any particular camera's sensor and lens.
Mine gives very good picture quality in built up areas with good street lighting and even on unlit rural roads captures acceptable images that would satisfy any accident investigator as to the probably cause, apportion blame etc; the rearward facing camera on mine gives rather dark images inside the cars interior as you might expect, but the driver and front seat passenger are very visible with just the instrument illumination and the outside view at the rear is clear enough to prove blame in any incident. As to IR leds, I believe they are a gimmick rather than of any real use. Incidentally, mine saves the video files in 132MB chunks and 'locks' any file from both 30 seconds before and after, any unusually accelerated or decreased G forces as in a collision etc are detected and these cannot be overwritten by the camera. HTH :y
:y get what you pay for ultimately - so I'll live with it for now. One way or another it should still show if anything comes across my path - or I  ::) deviate from my intended path  ::).
I need to tweak its position to stop the glare from the sky burning out the rest of the image though.
Just ordered a second one too for the other car as my daughter passed her test last Thursday and was then involved in an accident as a passenger in her friends car when a car came across their path on a country road...

As a side thought - if you've got kids approaching driving age - you can make some great hazard perception clips to practice on  :y :y

Cheers
Ian.

Words fail me  :-[. Thanks for sharing this. Without getting into a long controversial political debate - the 'Western World' lives in a pretty big glass house of it's own doesn't it. This is just horrifying on a scale I can't comprehend.
Lessons learnt and all that  :-\ :-\ - we are still at war on a global scale, we still build weapons that we continue to use against ourselves (Humans) - except we got a lot smarter at it supposedly  :-X
But that fact that I can sit here and write this is why we should never forget them.

Went and saw One Chance last week with SWMBO (James Corden stars) - what a great film - chick flick(ish) but something for everyone  :y :y. Only about 12 people in the screen too.
