Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Electric seat swap....help?
« on: 02 April 2010, 23:01:41 »
I have a late '98 MV6 with cloth recaros and side airbags. I have bought a leather interior with full electric movement (Not Memory) but no side airbags. Will I have problems with the Airbag sensors not sensing them as it were? If this is going to cause loads of agro/electrical probs I may just leave the old ones in and sell on the leather!
Also can anyone tell me what the two connectors are on the nearside underneath the rear seat are for? My recaros are heated but the rear seats are not, i'm geussing that what at least one of them is for!

 Cheers Guys

When you say air leak, does it sound like a manifold gasket noise or is it more of a constent hiss?

And there's me thinking i'm the only one! Great site. I've had my black '98 MV6 for 5 years and have modified it a bit, it runs out at 241 on the rollers and brings a smile to my face still! Most recently being saturday week when i was passed by a brand new VXR astra, now i know this will leave me for dead off the lights, but imagine his dissapointment as he reached the top end of its "capabillities" and my ol' bus is still behind, and no it wasn't the diesel version, look foward to helping people out and being helped out! Anyone want a set of the origianal MV6 wheels reasonable condition no tyres £30 each?
 Happy cruising

OK short history. The cars been mine for the last eight years, if you are or were in Autobahnstormers you'll know it well. It has had untold spent on it but scince the birth of my boy three years ago its taken a nose dive and with another on the way its beyond my cash flow to put it right.
IT WILL FAIL ITS NEXT MOT
The current ticket expires May 18th, I would love someone to come along and put it right/restore it but realisticly I know what will happen to it. It has my private plate on it which I will be swapping onto the Wife's car this week. Have a look at what goodies are on it then make me an offer to drive the car away in the next two weeks. If I dont get what I am looking for I will then let the magpies descend and no doubt make more cash that way....just could do without the Agro.
The last time I looked this was still the most powerful Omega on the TotalVauxhall rolling road league, 241 back in 2005....i'm sure its been beaten by now!??!
It run a 15.6 at Santa Pod too

Rare Mattig Grill
Even rarer air intake mouldings either side of the Fogs
Eyebrows (if there your thing)
Irmscher Pedals
The wheels were brand new out of the box from LMF four years ago.
It has Steinmetz matched springs and Shocks
Jetex Stainless cat back
Pipercross Filter
Superchip

It needs for MOT, welding front inner arches. Front arms both sides need replacing. Discs and Pads.

The oil cooler is fubared (fixed with rad weld....sorry)
Rocker covers are warped (It has done over 187,000)
The tin worm has got a good hold on the arches.

It still goes like stink and STILL returns 32-34 on a run!

May consider PX straight swap with any make/model with at least 10 Mnths MOT.

This is a sad day for me but I have to take off my Petrol Head and put on my Finance/Family head!!

Ask any questions...i'll do my best at answering!
