Snow
« on: 14 January 2021, 11:56:41 »

It's been snowing here since around seven this morning and it's still coming down. Weather forecast says it will continue till around 4. Wifey has closed her schools and thinks she is going to set off home at around 12:30......in a little astra with an auto gearbox  ::)
I think she should stay where she is but, no doubt, she will set off and get stuck or crash. Then she'll expect me to put my superman cape on and sort it out. She'll be sadly disappointed.

Still, it's only 30 odd miles. If she's careful she may get home in time to set off again  ;D

I sincerely hope she has a SAFE and uneventful journey home
put an extra chunk of coal on the fire and make her something nice to eat and say "well done"  ;)

if your a real scouser ,you'll have stolen the coal and be happy to use it, if your a Yorkshireman now ,it might sting a bit  ;D

She's just set off, said she'll ring me to keep me up to date. I told her, if I don't answer, it'll be because I'm having my nap.  ;D

Wifey has made Barnsley but had to turn round twice because traffic was at a standstill. Lots of inexperienced or stupid drivers, I suppose.

Got lots of rain here. Four roads out of the village and three are only passable by canoe. Fourth means driving 5 miles to get to the next village a mile away.
Just had to do this to take swmbo to Hospital appointment. Got to do the same again in an hour to go and have front tyres changed on the Omega.  :(
Still, at least it isnt snowing.  :P ;D

Is the Disastra capable of such speeds?  ::)

I bought a Vauxhall Vive Estate in the 80's as a run arround for my business.  Fitted BMW 3 series steel wheels on it with a set of Colway M&S tyres on . . .the car did me proud and would easily tackle deep (fresh) snow.

When the snow was gone it left Mud . . ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) :-X :y

Skinny tyres are much better in the snow.
