I am pleased to announce the opening of the first wheels-inmotion center.
In celebration i would like to invite Omega Owners forum members to our open day on Sunday 25th May between 10am and 4pm, our address is
Unit 33
Chess Business park
Chesham
HP5 1SB = Park
HP5 1SD = Centre
Our fields encompass solutions for....
Geometry chassis calibration
Suspension calibration
Corner weighting and dynamic indexing
Touchless tyre removal/installation
Nitrogen inflation
Wheel balance optimization
E/commerce tyre purchase
To accomplish our vision we invested in the best tools available....
BOSS touchless tyre changer/installer: One of five in Europe.
Ultrasound laser guided lateral recognition wheel balancer, using studded mounts and a destination/proof printout for the customer.
Hunter DSP600 HD Geometry Aligner: One of two in the UK
Hunter (modified car) software: First in the UK
Hunter ride height live verification (sprung suspension targets) first in the UK in combination with modified car software
Our intention is to make our opening a memorable event for all that attend.
Refreshments from soft drinks to Champagne and food catering will be on us
A free raffle with superb prizes goes without saying. So Sunday the 25th of May could be your lucky day.
In addition we will have some interesting cars on site...
A Drifty from the British Drift Championships
A Lexus from Timed Attack race series
Without mentioning others we even have a Delorean for those who (like me) that have never seen one.
That's it.... A destination for a meet and greet for members offering a chance to see our solid commitment in the flesh.
On a personal note i have been overwhelmed from the kind words and support from club members over the last year or two, so i feel this is "pay back time" the wim-way.
-
Glad to see its nearly all come together for you :y

Thank you for the invite tony, and i would love to see you again at the new premesis. I look forward to seeing a lot of other members there as well. :y

My Daughter and her Boyfriend have just moved to Chesham and is only about 1/2 hour from me :y.

It's been a long time coming mate and is richly deserved :y
I certainly plan to be there, (you haven't seen my mig for a few months!)
I'm sure that OOF will be well represented too.

where is chesham ? :-[
I have added Wheels-Inmotion to the OOF member map (http://www.zeemaps.com/omegaowners) as a "Meeting Point" (Yellow Marker).
This marker is fully linked up with the main Wheels-Inmotion website (http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/).
Should be easy to find now.
Good luck Tony :y
Look forward to seeing you on the 17th for my car's set up.

So, who else is coming? Sounds like it will be a good day, and I reckon will make a decent OOF meet, and be able to meet drivers from other clubs for other marques.

Me and Supermop will be there. Was over ther today getting my car sorted and told Tony to expect a large contingent from OOF which he was really pleased about. Sounds like it's going to be a good day as he's laying on a bit of plonk and nibbles along with a few track cars. :y
-

The plan is there will be another if we can show there is demand - which to be fair may well be dependent on how well we are represented in 3 weeks.
This if it goes ahead will be a bit later in year I imagine...

I plan to attend (along with mrs Less). I hope Tony gets lots of support for the opening day. It would be quite nice to see OOF well represented, particularly as we would like to see the OOF day in the future.
(Be a good opportunity to put a few faces to names too 8-))
-
Good luck to you Tony, with your new premises. :y
I will be there on 25th now after a bit of a re-skedd. ;D ;D

Whats the best way to Chesham from the M4 ??
TomTom says M25/J18/A404
Autoroute says A404/M40/A355
I don't know that part of the world at all .. so open to suggestions :)
I plan on leaving Swindon around 0930-1000.
If anyone in the Swindon area wants to go and would like to grab a lift ... I'll be more than happy to take you ... give me a yell .... I've got 4 empty seats.... :)
:)

Personally when I travelled extensively in this area I would go up M4 from Swindon to Maidenhead, take 404(M) / A404 Junction,
travel up A404 to Amersham, then North to Chesham.
I would avoid the M25 like the plague, and in anycase that is going a long way around.!
Hope this helps! :y
-
Lizie .. so stick on the A404 right through High Wycombe ??
Looked the "straightest" route to me .. but not sure why both TT and AR decide to ignore it !!!
Thanks :)

The M25 ain't that bad and should be OK on Sunday dependant upon what time you drive, I always use the M25 just to go to Watford via A2, and dartford tunnell rather than drive through london, and it's just as quick, and the car gets a decent run :y

Yes indeed straight through High Wycombe, via Haselmere, to Amersham on to Chesham.
These electronic guides are fine for straight forward routes for the inexperienced who doen't mind the extra mileage for simplicity, but ex-professional car drivers like myself know the quickest routes usually!
All the best

Maybe Mike, but when you do not have to use the M25 it is best not too, and anyway on a Sunday I have been held up far too many times for long periods on that 'Heathrow / M4' section, especially when it has been raining. The accidents I have witnessed are something else! :'( :'(

Thanks Lizzie ... will we see you at WIM ??? :)

I would leave M4 up 404 Marlow bypass, straight over Handycross roundabout into Wycombe, up the big hill all the way to Amersham, then Amersham-on-the-Hill, then down to Chesham. WIM is right on that edge of Chesham

Unfortunately I'm probably not going to be able to make it - the person I was going to come down with has 90% certain pulled out, and I haven't got a spare £100 to spend on fuel there and back in my car... gutted.
Hope y'all have a good day, I'll be down at some point for a nosy. Best wishes.
-
Bugger, we have that stupid Gatecrasher event near us, which means traffic will be a sod. I'll have to get up earlier :'(
-
You had me worried for a moment ... then an Autoroute check on Turweston showed its near YOU .. not WIM !!!....
The "near us" bit made me think it was near WIM .. :)
See you between 1100 & 1200 hopefully :)

Near me, just outside Brackley. Tends to be held every other year or so. Can hear it from here, normally crap music. Tends to cause traffic chaos, though the highways people are used to dealing with big events here (ie British GP)

or at High Wycombe take M40 [j4] to Beaconsfield [j2] then follow signs to Amesham[ from slip road left then left at roundabout then right at mini rounabout. At Amersham as you come down a hill straight across roundabout [same point if u go thru HW but turn left]next roundabout right [Tescos]. Next roundabout left pass camera under railway bridge straight across mini roundabout
right at next mini then left a double mini roundabout straight across two more mini roundabouts as you come down hill into Chesham
at roudabout turn right - Moor Lane [i think] Chess Business Park on right.

Nope :-/ Total depends how you count the double mini :P

Well everything is in place now.... Food, drinks (hic), free raffle..... Oh and the centre.
We have some superb/ unusual cars on display, so other than the weather we are purged for an entertaining meet for all those who attend.
Apart from the fact we want to show you what we are all about the open days images will be used in our future marketing campaign, so a very valuable and expensive "one -off".
I hope to see you all tomorrow.....
-
Good luck Tony - I aim to be there late morning, but if I'm quiet (or late), its because I feel bloody awful at the moment :(
-
Good luck today and I hope all goes well. I wish I could be there but unfortunately I've got to work and the day's not turning out too well so far!
I'll probably be down before the end of the summer though because i want the geometry set up, even though it doesn't feel too bad (if you ignore the symptoms of the dodgy wishbone!)
-
Flippin' heck- it's piddling down here in Saff'end.
Typical Brit weather. Hope it's not gonna spoil the day at WIM too much.
I'm still going though - aim to be there about 11-30
Will see any other members mad enough to brave the rain, there.
Looking forward to meeting at least a few of you -- :y :y
Regards, Big Al

Looked the "straightest" route to me .. but not sure why both TT and AR decide to ignore it !!!
Thanks :)
:y
or at High Wycombe take M40 [j4] to Beaconsfield [j2] then follow signs to Amesham[ from slip road left then left at roundabout then right at mini rounabout.
So that's 9 roundabouts then ::)
Nope :-/ Total depends how you count the double mini :P
How do you count them then :-/..would be nice to know :P

Well impressed with new setup. Nice to meet other forum members
And thanks to 'The Boy' for gearbox update.
Great day.
PS: The update makes the gear change a lot better. But WIM only 6 miles away not a lot of testing :y

Back from WIM open day. Good turnout - looked like The OOF had the most members present (16 Cars I think) :y :y :y
Met most of the members present, and a jolly friendly bunch they were indeed. TheBoy, Mike Dundee, Kevin Wood, JohnnyCBoy + his SWMBO ,Beconboy , Vista, Gary FFC & Robbo to name a few.( Sorry for the other names I can't remember :-[ :-[)
OOF'ers did OK in the free raffle, myself coming home with a complete car CD stereo with front & rear speakers ;D ;D ;D
Even my SWMBO was impressed & enjoyed herself.
Lastly, made some headway for the cambelt party- should be about 4-5 weeks. firm date will be announced ASAP :y :y
And very lastly , Thanks to Mike Dundee for the oil & filter :y :y
Regards, BIG AL

Good day out and the gearbox upgrade is good ... really good :y :y :y
Got a couple of glitches with the climate upgrade ... but it seems to be slowly sorting itself out ....
Many thanks to TB for his efforts, hope you feel better soon ..now REALLY looking forward to the Lakes :y :y :y

Good day, really good to put some faces to names!
Impressive number of Omegas turned up.... I'm just waiting for someone to post some pictures! :y

Couldn't let it go without adding my thanx to all at WIM for a well organised open day. Very very impressed with the set up and how friendly they all were, and also took time out to explain any procedure you asked about. Good to see a large turnout of OOF members as well, desipe the downpour in the morning, and put faces to names. My elite seemed more like a speedboat at times on the way over. Big thanx to TB as well for the upgrade. Have a few hop juices tonight mate. You earned them! Definately going back to get set done when funds allow. Thanx again to all. :y

Yes!! Good turn out today as said before, despite the weather. Glad to put names to forum usernames as well. Thanks to TB for checking and adjusting my idle for me (I think it was adjusted anyway) seems to run abit better now, thanks TB! :y Well going to have a look at the lakes post now to see the dates and see what I can arrange. (its good being the boss as I can sort things out!! he he he he) So lets see what I can do, I WILL BE TAKING THE CARAVAN TB if I can make it.

Hi all, what a good turnout despite the weather!
It was good to put a few faces to names. OOF was well represented with lots of tidy looking Omega's. We were definitely NOT outdone by the 'rice burners' 8-)
Many thanks to WIM for a good day, nice to see Tony again and also quite a nice surprise to see that Mark (ex Kipling) has joined Tony in his new venture! Very impressive setup Tony, with lots of cutting edge technology. Another surprise on the day was the pair of Shelby Mustangs out front which looked incredibly similar to an identical pair owned by by brother-in-law.......I had no idea that he was aquainted with Mark and Tony or that he was attending today! Small world sometimes!

As already said, great meet you guys yesterday, Many thanks To WIM for a great day, the missues done alright out of the raffle.
Many thanks to TB for the gearbox update, it makes a massive difference to the car. Anyway hopefully be able to make the lakes dependent on work commitments, but see what i can do. Oh yes the pictures would be nice to see if any one has any.

A big "THANK YOU" from wim..... A superb show of support from all the clubs for our grand opening despite the appalling weather.
Special thanks to E55EX RACER, Theboy and WOZZA who went that extra mile to promote this event in their respected clubs, i think the number of members at wim says it all.
Additional thanks to Monster Mat for the "unexpected" and extremely entertaining Drifting in the Monster....and Bazza who displayed the "pocket rocket" really is a rocket on Noz....and then some!!
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to NickT who bought the Deloerian for our centre piece display car on the Geometry rig... In fact the car overwhelmed our equipment on a interest scale.
Note to self: Get a Lada on the Geometry rig next time.
That's it.... A fantastic day thanks to you all, and a brilliant show of members, i want to hug you all.
Next up is the knowledge day meets?......What's that?
The knowledge day meet is club specific. Each club needs to agree a Sunday date (excluding the last Sunday of each month) where we will (by lucky dip) calibrate members cars free and display/explain what this Geometry lark is all about.
This won't be quite the wine and dine as the open day but still a £85 freebie for each car calibrated and a meet to boot, plus we wil feed and water you....
In addition i will have two, two posters available if any projects are going on.... No "wet work though" oil and alike, plus the car/s will need to be booked for H&S and insurance reasons... Please pm/Email me on this topic.
Thanks again everyone
Regards
Tony@ wim

Sorry for the late reply - been tucked up in bed with a bad dose of man flu ;D
Just wanted to add my thanks to the WIM team for arranging a fabulous day, feeding and watering us, getting the TV working for those who wanted to watch the Grand Prix (I know the aerial had to go up in a hurry ;D), and showing off the equipment and capabilities.
Was good to meet Tony and Mark again, albeit just a quick hello/goodbye, and good to meet the new Tony (2 Tony B's is confusing!) :y
As well as a big thankyou to WIM, I'd also like to thank the OOF members who made it, despite the weather. A fantastic turnout. Not sure if we beat LOC on club member turnout, but impressive none the less :y :y
So thankys to all for making it an enjoyable day, and roll on the knowledge day, I can't wait :D
