Credit where it is due, set of cheap brake discs* ordered Thursday morning, arrived Friday afternoon.

Although the alternator parts took longer than estimated to arrive, that took a week.

Though far more impressive is an online order from Wheelspin Models. Ordered yesterday morning (Sat), just had notification it will be delivered by lunchtime today (Sun).  Shame I won't be able to play with my new toy, as I'll be waiting for eBay to deliver a battery adapter.

* should point out, I do not recommend cheap discs.  This is for the rear of TBE, just to have on the shelf in case:

a) it gets presented for an MOT next month (as of yet, TBE's MOT has not been extended :()
b) fails on the state of the rear discs, they are a bit messy.

Your MOT certificate will not be extended if your vehicle’s MOT expires on or after 1 August 2020  ;)

rear, or front disks for that matter should only fail an MOT if damaged, weakened, brake test fail due to efficiency or bad imbalance.
rusty and scored disks should get an advisory
that said ,brakes are a pretty important part of driving and you should aim above the minimum requirements to pass an MOT IMHO
and if the brakes have been maintained ,swapping disks and pads is simple
rear brakes poorly maintained can become a nightmare due to the inner handbrake gubbins  though

Where a calliper went sticky 2 or 3 years back, one face got badly scoured, which makes it look rusty and crap, as the new pads aren't touching those areas.  Always easily passes brake test/balance, although clearly that single pad can't have the efficiency it should.  Its had advisos for last 2 years ;D

Looks even worse now its spent the last 4 months barely used ;D

So I thought I'd get a set of cheapies, "just in case".  I wouldn't be upset if he did fail them, irrespective of the technicalities of if it is a fail or not.  I've owned the car since 55k, and I suspect they are the originals, at 155k

well with the mileage, they are probably on the thin side anyway
if you have new discs you could fit them BEFORE the MOT and avoid the advisories  ;D
an MOT with no advisories would help with the sale IF IF IF you find a car worthy of replacing TBE
(which you won't)  ;D   :-X

Yeah, but not sure I'll present it for MOT, as once she's burnt through this tank of LPG, thats likely to be it.

But we are trouble having to find an acceptable replacement. That said, we probably don't need 3 cars currently either.

Given that its rare we go out separately, especially currently, we probably could drop to one car.  Although she finds the Jag a bit difficult in tight spaces, or fitting it in the small parking spaces at her work.

sounds like MOTing the Omega would be wise then
yes fuel is expensive , but if you are both comfortable driving it then right off the fuel cost as opposed to writing off  shed loads of ££ in depreciation on a car that's a compromise
you've got the zafira as back up and abuse

When she goes back to the office, the Omega is not viable, due to fuel costs. Made doubly worse by its looking like she won't be lift sharing for at least another year. So her fuel costs are approximately quadrupling.

Arrived about 3hrs ago, so little over 24hrs from ordering to delivery, on the weekend.

Thats what I call excellent service.

An Ebay battery adapter (XT60), ordered Sunday, arrived today, which meant said toy from Wheelspin Models could have a run...

The correct (XT90) adapters, ordered on Saturday from Ebay, haven't turned up yet, though were "posted" within a hour of me buying them.
