You know where to find original headlights, not new but in good shape with new adjusters.  :)

Omega General Help / Re: Omega LSD
« on: 21 December 2019, 10:35:26 »
I have one from my 2.6L that had it as an option, was a common ad on here in the north of Sweden to handle slippery roads in winter.
It is however in need of rebuild since the LSD is damaged, worn discs. Being from a 2.6L Auto it has 4.22:1 in gears.

I wasn't successful in finding any replacement looking for a LSD on the web sites for scrapyards in Sweden or Germany. Ended up with a Non-LSD as a replacement.

I put on one of these instead.

You need to get new cables to it since the original cables has connectors that are not standard. They come in different versions with Radio/GPS/Phone combinations. The one I got has Radio/GPS

Omega General Help / Re: Radiator part number needed

There are different two letter codes on them that will give you the partnumber:

Check out this instead:

https://www.eonon.com/Android-Car-GPS/2-Din-GPS-Navigation.html

It is basically an Android tablet built in to a stereo unit with Bluetooth for your hands-free phone calls.

It fit instead of your original unit and is up to date in technology with Google  Maps for navigation, music of any kind. Use your phones WiFi sharing to get internet access for any streaming service.

I have it in my Omega, you can find mounting kits for the Omega so it will fit properly. It also works with the steering wheel controls, it comes with an app that let you set functions to the buttons.

Omega General Help / Re: Finding part numbers
« on: 23 November 2019, 08:15:45 »
Living in Sweden I have found that some parts that are not available as Vauxhall/Opel parts can have a SAAB part number that are available. They had the V6 in some of the SAAB's.

You need a good parts guy that is willing to look a bit further to find the stuff you need.

That's fine.

I sometimes forget that most other Omegas work better than mine  :D ;D

I don't think I have any problem with the matrix. This car is only driven in the winter and before I took it out on October 1st I changed the thermostat since the engine temp took for ever to come up to normal. So apparently I didn't fill it up properly after the draining, I did also change the water pump, so I got an airlock. Last year i didn't have any problem with the heating  (when the engine eventual came up to temperature).

Now when the air lock is gone it gets up to temperature a lot quicker than before and it stays warm all the time. We have had above 5°C the last weeks, even up to 10°C some times which means that the AC kicks in when I lower the temp setting.

Everything work as it should and when puting the temp setting to HI it is hot as h*ll, almost burn the skin.

Thanks

Jan

It's the only way to bleed it properly ;)

Heat is on!

The method you  suggested seems to have done it. Drove a trip today, 250 km roundtrip, and it was warm and nice as it used to be.

Thanks  :y :y

Might be an air lock.

After I had changed the thermostat and driven it for a while the expansion tank was empty, topped it up and it is now at its proper level. Could have been an air lock then. I'll try your suggestion.

thanks

In my winter Omega the heating is not working properly.

It sometimes heat up and stay warm, but most often it blows half cold air. If I raise the temp setting it blows warm air but then go back to cold after a while. If I turn it up to max I get hot air. Same thing if I turn up the fan to max it blows hot for a while.

It seems like it has problem to keep the temperature to the value I set.

Could it be the interior temp sensor?

Engine is running at approx 88°C and gets warm with in a few minutes, Thermostat is recently changed. Coolant level is OK.
