3.0l MV6 exhaust blowing
« on: 07 March 2022, 19:52:25 »

I have had to change the gasket on my 1999 3.0L MV6 down to about 3 in the last 2 years. I assume it is because I have used the cheap ones off eBay, they just break up each time.
I’ve brought some genuine VX ones so hopefully will sort it this time, just want to ask is it just the gasket, or should I also use a joint paste? Or any other tips?

personally i would never use joint paste especially the traditional type that just hardens with age and heat and then goes brittle and falls out.
a good quality gasket fitted to a clean bore and tightened up correctly should last a long time .

you are NOT meant to use exhaust paste etc pre cat
use what you like after the cat , gum gum, cement ,paste, bean cans  :D
