Interior lights staying on when alarm is set
« on: 04 December 2019, 17:56:07 »

Another problem and hopefully the last the alarm went off on the car a couple of times and when unlocking the car and opening the door it's locking and unlocking itself like a sync issue. When i get in the car the light goes off normally but if I lock the car with key or fob it stays on.Any ideas?

Normal behaviour. Switching the ignition on turns it off immediately but locking will leave it on for a couple of minutes ;)

I know some[if not all]Citroens will cycle through the lock/unlock if one of the doors/boot isn't shut properly.Assuming all of yours are fully shut could it be a faulty lock/lock microswitch? As DG says the interior lights should stay on for a short while[unless ignition key turned in the meantime]after unlocking/locking and gradually dim until going out altogether.

faulty micro switch in the door lock, or a broken wire in the door loom.

That is incorrect.

OP - have you messed with the loom in order to open the boot faster?

On mine unlocking[or if not locked opening the drivers door]turns on the interior lights, once the door is shut the lights gradually dim until they go out unless the ignition is turned on in which case the lights go off immediately.Turn ignition off and get out and the lights will gradually dim until going out whether locked or not.To open the boot the ignition has to be turned off-on mine anyway as I've not even thought of doing the mod to allow it to be any different.
