Car parts from EU/Germany
« on: 30 April 2021, 16:03:45 »

Hello

I've seen a few parts in fleabay Germany for my Senny, trouble is the guy won't ship to UK, well, he didn't say he won't but said he hasn't tried since Brexit and left it at that, I thought maybe that's code for pee off, but he's got other parts that will ship to the UK  ::). I've had parts shipped from Holland few Months ago, no issue apart from the VAT bill from DHL.

Anyone found a way to get round this like using a EU based freight forwarding address?

Thanks

Collect it? A long weekend and the ferry from Newcastle to Denmark or cheap flight from Edinbugger.

I've purchased from Germany since brexit ,not car parts , a waterbed mattress ,
20 kg , 800x1200x500 mm package (50 euro shipping cost)
no issues with customs or extra charges by the courier
IIRC items worth £130 ish or less are not subject to duty

depends if the seller can be arsed to get a price from the likes of DHL, UPS etc

I'm in the process of registering for EORI.
https://www.gov.uk/eori
The above link is for UK I'm applying to Irish equivelent.
Carriers will not move anything without one being supplied by both parties.
Individuals can get one using income tax /NI number.
Won't make it cheaper, only doable.
Good luck.

Yeah, I think that's what he was telling me (can't be arsed with the extra hassle) in a nice sort of way! Thought Germans were efficient lol!
