Renewel Time
« on: 04 May 2021, 12:16:54 »

So.  Admiral

Been with them quite a while
22 Y NCD (Thier number - most wont accept it)

Started at £260
Down to   £239 but I am not happy with that.

But I have been told the UK average has come down by £90 per policy.

So off to check the market.

Anyone had any good deals this year. :y

Where you live will decide a large part of the premium.

I know, When I moved 12 years ago my premium rose 26% because I went to a lower number post code.

70% of the quotes are under £200

Certainly didnt expaect RAC coming in the cheapest. and thats just the 1st step on GoCompare, and they take a huge chunk in commission (Heard it was £70 a time)

Insured the Boxster with Aviva via Quidco. £169 but £70 cashback to come, so £99 for the year.  :)

1993 Mk1 MX5. Full protected NCB. 12k a year. The only downside is no 3rd party cover for other vehicles.

It started off at £165, but as I went through QuidCo, I got £40 cashback making it £125 for the year. I'm more than happy with that, a classic policy price on a daily driven car.

Which begs the question as to why it wasn't £125 to begin with.

As an aside, who pays for the cashback :-\

Me. Some people would have paid the 165, I'd be happy with that, but as I used QuidCo to do the search in the first place, it was the cheapest option.

You missed my point.

1.Why wasn't £125 the best price?

2. Who covers the cost of the cashback?
