What's the pump from, and what's it going into?

My concern is thst it'll be set to work of a certain weight of vehicle, weight distribution, wheelbase, tyre size... And will need reprogramming to the new vehicle.

If that's possible ..

P reg Omega into an Austin hot rod, with all the extra metal that has gone in it recon it wont be far off the weight of Omega!!It was more for traction control and as it works on wheel locking cant see it that it would need reprograming.

Top picture is V(orne) - front, H(inter) - rear.

Bottom pick, presumably to and from the master.

Also TC on those works by cutting the throttle, not applying the brakes.  ;)

then the r and l must be master but it seems odd that there are 2 feeds to rear and only one to fronts. I know it cuts throttle but it needs ABS unit (and sensors) to work that out.

I'm not so sure about that. The ABS pump in the photos appears to be GM# 90444660 / Bosch 0-265-203-004-XJ. Seems to me that this unit is from a Model Year 1997 car. Production of MY97 V6 started in June 1996, so that's consistent with the "P" reg.

MY97 V6 cars were equipped with "two-way intervention" Traction Control. I understand that to mean that the TC system could cut the engine output and/or apply the brakes to a spinning wheel.

Power output is cut by retarding the timing and/or reducing the fuel. Later fly by wire cars closed the throttle when the TC was activated to cut the power.

countrywoman told us that that the ABS unit has five ports. And that these are marked V, H, h, I & none. Assuming a 3 channel system I would expect dedicated ports for each front wheel and a shared port for the rears. The rear circuit then goes through a T-distributor to branch to each rear wheel. So presumably that's port H. However we should have VL & VR for the fronts and we don't.

well dears it says across the top nothing on large union, I on next one a cast in small h on next then the 2 on front face V stamped in on one and H in the other and can only find 5 ports .

DBW cars actively apply the individual rear brakes to prevent spinning, cable throttled cars don't.

This is why 3.2s in particular eat rear pads if driven hard (and probably why GM decided to add vented rear discs) and 3.0s don't.

In Euroland they went a step further and ESP was available as an option on later cars which brakes any wheel(s) as required to straighten the car.

Think I might have worked it out, what do you think. the 2 lower pipes go to master V and H to match v and H on master then its the top ones r for right front l for left front and h for rear?

That certainly sound feasible.
