"Teams will be frightened of us!" Wayne Rooney after England beat Lithuania 4 - 0
Next up Italy on Tuesday!
I'm sure the major teams are quaking in their boots as we take on in the Euro qualifiers such Italian sporting icons as San Marino.
After playing and beating San Marino along with Lithuania and Estonia, I'm sure the minor football counties that most of Europe have not heard of, like Germany, will be laughing all the way to their next trophy in 2016.
England might have improved so much and be so frightening, the odds could be as low as 33/1 on us going beyond the group stages in 2016.
Rooney is going to need a bigger trophy cabinet for another Golden Boot award to add to all the others he has won in World Cups and Euro Championships.
The players obviously read and believe the tabloid sporting pages on how they are going to win the Euro Championship until they come up against such quivering non-entities who have never won anything like: The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Portugal, France or Spain, then it will be all the standard excuses: "We was robbed"; "The other team had 12 players with the ref", "If we had scored the first goal we would have won", "We played well and it was a tight game, we showed that by keeping it down to only a 4-0 loss" etc., etc.
Before anybody calls me a cynic, unfortunately history is on my side.
