Omega General Help / Re: ABS and TC light on
« on: 14 August 2012, 10:05:26 »
Odd that the warning lights don't come on until you pick up some speed :-\ maybe it is complaining about the difference in diameter between front and rear tyres?

Given that you are going to change them anyway I would reserve judgment until you have a full set of equal sized tyres.

as said here I would get the same size tyres on first before even thinking anything else.

Omega General Help / Re: Gearbox Problems
« on: 31 July 2012, 11:09:55 »
Update:

Well tried disconnecting battery overnight to reset everything - no joy
Tried wiggling wires checking pugs on Gearbox ECU - no joy
Pulled all fuses to check for blown ones - all fuses ok - now gaerbox selector lights on and all is working fine again!!!???

Completely confused me, but not going to complain as all working again now!

Omega General Help / Gearbox Problems
« on: 26 July 2012, 09:33:39 »
Ok, finally got around to putting the the original radio & cd player in (CCR600 changed from a CAR400) and struggling to run all the wires etc through. Problem now is that I seem to have done something to the garbox in the process as all was fine before I started.

There are now no selector lights lighting up and MID shows the dreaded "Automatic Gearbox"

The question is, have I Just managed to blow a fuse for the box ecu or is there any gearbox related plugs behind the radio that I may have disconnected? Something simple like that? or is this something that has just decide to go wrong at this time?

Selector lights not lighting up suggest to me a fuse or conection but I am no expert!

Please help!

Nick

Omega General Help / Re: airbag light
« on: 22 June 2012, 09:00:07 »
Well FINALLY got round to looking at this, as have been driving the RX8 instead (and because MOT is due on 7th July)!!! Took seat out, back off of it and cleaned all the connections I could find. Put it all back together, reset the airbag light and WEEHAY!! all is now resolved.

RX8 can go back to being a weekend runabout again.

Thanks all for your help and input.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Aerial lead
« on: 20 June 2012, 15:35:56 »
I have managed to break a the wire somewhere in my aerial lead! Is there a short extension from the passenger footwell in a 1997 CD saloon or is it the full 7 & 1/2m straight through lead?

well that's going to be a bugger then with the 2012 MOT rules. It's a failure for the airbag light to be on (think it was just an advisorary before?).

Omega General Help / airbag light
« on: 11 January 2012, 14:33:42 »
Ok, airbag light has been on for a while now. Plugged in my duff code reader to read code & try reset. Reste and it just comes back on again showing driverside airbag squib high resistance.

Had seat out and made sure everything is connected ok, so the question is what do I need to replace??? any ideas?

Omega General Help / Air bag light
« on: 26 September 2011, 13:18:12 »
Ok, so I haven't needed to ask for help on here in a long time, BUT.....

Air bag light has come on. Plugged in "My Naff Code Reader" and tried resetting it but same fault keeps reappearing. Drivers side airbag squib high voltage. I am presuming a new squib should sort the problem out, or is it likely to be just a loose connection?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CD changer lead
« on: 06 July 2011, 13:40:59 »
Swopped from CAR400 to CCR 600 but haven't got the lead to go with it. Any ideas as to where to get one? Or which pin outs go to which to fabricate my own?

Looking on the Alpine europe site (steering wheel adapters) it shows you what you need to work the display and steering wheel controls. It seems the KEC-870B will not work the display, but the KEC-970B will.

Opel Omega .1999 .2002 KCE-970B main adapter KWE-972E wiring harness Headunit
If Can-Bus cables (2 cables twisted together) are present in the radio connector, this will not work.   Should work steering wheel abd display

Will work with KCE-870B-R3 and above. WITHOUT DISPLAY OUT PUT!!!

Just put some nightbreakers in mine (min facelift projectors). Tried them last night although not completely dark and they do seem a fair bit better than the normal ones that were in there before.

As for life, the packaging suggests half the life of mormal ones.

So now looking at ths

or this:

Alpine CDA-9853R MP3/WMA CD Tuner
