radio reception, forgive me

I have read past posts but not sure what the best definite solution is, my 2002 saloon has rubbish reception when the heated window is on but its not brilliant normally, my car is a saloon with the bee sting aerial, if the aerial is in the HRW what does the bee sting do as I have no phone fitted or sat nav?, i understand there is a signal amplifier under the parcel shelf, is this easy to get to and has anyone got any pics?

what type of fitting is it in the back of the radio for the aerial? I might try an aftermarket internal antenna
