Just bypass it, as long as you don’t rag the Arsenal off it will be fine in my opinion.

Get yer tape measure out and get a quote to have one made up. Should cost way less than a vx one. And probably be of higher quality.

I would just try and source blanking plugs for where the cooler pipes come out of / go into the block.
Unlikely to need it in this country unless you  plan towing a big caravan all over the place in the middle of summer.

Managed to find a stainless one from a Vectra, used on the bay.You cant just plug the take off as oil needs to go in and out of the gallery. Blanking plug will stop the flow

Need I say anymore, we could all cut corners, but in the end it's not worth it, the car was not designed like that, the actual plant that designed the engine cost £700 million and was in millions of cars from the v6 2.5,2.6, 3.2 was in saab, opel, BMW,cadalac, commodore, holden and others, but as I am still driving the car after 21 years, If only parts were easily available, as the carbon footprint of this car was created 21 years ago, now they just make crap, which I will have to choose from if i cant get this fixed , and then in a few years time, I will have to drive with a battery under my ass  ;D

Wouldn't you need to connect them together otherwise you'll starve the engine of oil?

Oil temperature is unlikely to be an issue in the UK. You can always get "tell tale" stickers to apply to the oil filter or sump which record the maximum temperature. Could replace it with a sandwich plate cooler or Laminova if required.

I was thinking along those lines and as the oil is designed to flow that way, it could damaged the oil pump if you just blanked it?  :-\

How about connecting them together with 10mm copper pipe?  ???

You could route it under the oil cooler plate so at least it sits in the coolant, and if ambitious you could coil it for max cooling effect.  :-\

Dissimilar metal corrosion would be one reason ;)

Might be an issue if under the cooler plate in coolant, but probably not an issue if just bridging the ports on the block.

Even then, with decent coolant, you might get away with it.
